it can be quite a powerful contrast between the raw, aggressive sound of hardcore being "lifted up" by the melodical dissonance and harmonic vocal work. but there comes a point where it can either be powerful and anthemic, or too sickly-sweet and cheesy, and from what i can gather, Evil Activities album Extreme Audio is the latter.
