I was thinking of putting him in the technology area (actual name TBD), and have him involved in the part which the protagonist has to deal with Lupus (he's replacing Alphys to an extent). Sure, I bet I can find a place for him.

Flash blushed a little, "Thanks, I've never really been complimented that much before. And, well, that depends on your definition of 'good'. Sure, my life as is right now is pretty good. But I'm not exactly on good terms with my parents. I'm living my life in a way that they aren't entirely supportive of, and we had quite a fight about it. That's when I left, got my job on the weather team, but I had to drop out of school for that, and started earning a solid income. Solid enough in fact for me to have my own house. Sure, I'm currently paying off a loan, but it beats dealing with my parents." Flash looked off into the distance for a moment, "You know, I've never really opens up to anypony like this before. I guess I just felt that I could trust you."

Flash was a little surprised by what Gumball had said. "Me? A Wonderbolt? Nah, they're way better than me. Besides, I'm rather happy just living my normal life back in Ponyville. I work in the weather team, thunderstorm division to be precise. It's not very special, but it's a living. And I enjoy it too, I mean, lightning is in my name. But something about being a Wonderbolt does sound pretty awesome..." He trailed off, losing himself in his thoughts for a moment.

Once they arrived at the seats on the other side of the stadium, Flash placed Gumball down in front of one of the seats and plopped down into the other. "Well, we've got front row seats, popcorn, and drinks. I'd say that there isn't anything that could make this any better." Flash said, sounding rather pleased with himself.
