  1. I have not been keeping up with the MLP Fandom
    Can someone explain to me why and how people are managing to take a political stance on A New Generation?
    No spoilers, I haven't seen it yet
    But thats also why I have no context for how My Little Pony can possibly be political

      Keep politics away from MLP.

      @Oni Equine
      I see
      I did see someone ask "where are the wendigos in G5?"
      And now it makes sense why there should be Wendigos if the races are divided like they were back when Wendigos were around

      That's kind of a tough request. You could argue that politics have always been lightly addressed in G4. But to be fair, that's the key issue, LIGHTLY. And when it comes to the ponies being divided in G5, I don't think it is meant to be an allegory for actual racism. I think it's just a simple, don't-think-too-deeply-about-it story. They are still trying to market this towards little kids, specifically girls. Any articles you may have read about the movie being progressive or anything like that? Probably just fluff pieces to make the staff look cool amongst the PC crowd and anyone who cares about stuff like that. At the end of the day, it's still a fun pony show. :)

      I mean... How much of a conversation do you want to make out of this?
      I have my own theory about why the Wendigos are absent, but I all ready revealed some base-level info about the movie. I don't want to go too far past your level of comfort.
