    I always wondered...

    Why Celestia and Luna?

    One's a Celtic sun goddess and the other, the literal name of our moon

    You'd think they'd either do Helios and Luna, or Celestia and Selene

    So I looked it up -_-

    Turns out that in the VERY EARLY STAGE comics, Luna was called "Princess Selene" but for some reason, they changed it

    I imagine they decided against Helios pretty early on because it was too masculine a name for a female character. We should rename our star O.o

      The sun is generally seen as 'male'. Father sun, Celestia should have been male. Perhaps instead of being brother and sister they could be married. King and Queen.

      That's exactly what I was thinking

      Cernunnos, Helios, Apollo, Ra, The Horned God, all male. Maybe Princess Celestia should've been Prince Apollo

      OMG that's such a cute name! :wub:

      But Prince Helios or Prince Ra have that special regal tone to them

      Maybe Prince Cernunnos sounds better relative to her current name

      I don't like how they are not Queens. Really, if they are Princesses there has to be a Queen and King somewhere...

      I like King Helios, or King Solaria.

      For Luna...Queen Lunara.
