Okay, here's what happened:

There was a story on the Sunday Morning News. It was about a gay man who wanted to open up a live theater with material that both gay and straight men could enjoy.

That sparked an... interesting conversation between my parents...

Dad: Those fucking faggots need to just shut up!

Mom: I think it's a chemical imbalance in their bodies that makes them all feminine like that

Dad: Yeah, cuz they have that accent, and do those girly things

Mom: It doesn't matter, it's not like it's us or our children

Dad: I can see two women [doing that] cuz that's just friends being friends, but male friends don't do that. Men can be buddies, but they're far from intimate relationships
