We have to interfere with it. That's how we build cities, feed our massive population, and make our lives generally comfortable. It's obviously never so black and white as all that but we bend nature to our will to live as we do. You say we shouldn't interfere but our lives have become what they are because we did and we're far better off thanks to that. 

Depends how you see "better off"

To me, our lives are almost fake thanks to what we've made it.

How is that a bad thing? We're relatively safe, the worst sicknesses we have to deal with on a regular basis won't keep us down more than a few days, we can be as warm or cool in trying weather as we want, we can be entertained every second of the day, communicate with people from around the world within seconds (not to mention travel there as well in very short amounts of time), our bellies are full with many foods both local and foreign. We have a good life and we are constantly moving forward in ways to make it that much better. It doesn't matter if some or even all of that is artificial. We are thriving.
