I apologize for spamming my status updates with depressing stuff lately.
I am glad people here are trying to cheer me up about the future of the brony community.
I will admit, I need to find something else to take my mind off this community, instead of being a depressed piece of garbage.
I just keep telling myself as well, the episodes are archived online in torrents and downloads by fellow fans and will probably never go away.

Woke up at 5 AM, can't sleep, so I am checking out the forums.
Glad to know some people here feel the same way I do about the upcoming G5, and how a good number of us are kinda trying to stay with G4.
I am trying my hardest to keep an open mind about this, but I do miss the excitement of whenever a new episode came out.
I seriously feel depressed about this whole thing right now, almost feel like crying.
But I shouldn't be this obsessed over a TV show.

Nothing will ever take G4 away from us. It's been released and its show completed. Hasbro can't take it back even if they wanted to. It earned its place in internet and cartoon history, and it'll have a special place in my heart forever. I imagine MLPF will be a home for it forever too. Even if we end up being super "into" G5 as a site, I expect we won't forget about our G4 roots and we'll aim to make it fun for fans of both to coexist here in the name of love for fantastical sapient equines in general. If you don't end up liking G5, perhaps it would help to think of it as a really ambitious fanfiction that you might see a lot of (think Fallout: Equestria), not particularly care for yourself, but with whose fans you'll still be able to enjoy the concept of pony with?
I've been mentally treating G5 as a continuation of G4 with a long timeskip in between. To me, that makes it emotionally feel like the excitement of a new episode or season that we know is coming. I have reason to believe that Hasbro's creative teams are putting in an A effort to build on what made G4 successful while respectfully giving closure to G4. As bittersweet as the end of official G4 content is, if there's any silver lining to it, it's that they can't ruin it either. We can see the Mane6 again any time we want by rewatching FiM or exploring everything its fandom created - and continues to create!! - until the end of time. Nothing can take them away from us.
The best possible outcome I see is that instead of having just one grand pony saga to love, we'll have two! G1-G3 notwithstanding - I'm talking about those of us who became MLP fans through G4 and didn't get hooked by the earlier generations. Add to your "grand pony sagas to love" count accordingly if you're a fan of those gens too.

I know what you feel, I can relate. I think I'll always prefer G4 myself, or at least I'm not planning to change that priority anytime soon. It kinda feels bad, that the G5 will be "stealing" its spotlight, so to speak, especially considering that I'm still working on G4 fan content.
If the banner has added to your concern, I'm pretty sure it may be cycling between G4 and G5 ones, or at least I'd suggest so. I don't think G4 will be swept under the rug, it plays the biggest role after all.

I am guessing DVD sales were not good for the last few seasons of MLP FiM from Shout Factory, that they just stopped at season 7?
I was kinda hoping to own seasons 8 and 9 on DVD.
I ordered seasons 6 and 7 and Friendship Games from Amazon, gotta build up more MLP DVD collection

I hope you are right.
The last MLP DVD that was released by them was Hearts and Hooves, and that was in January of 2019.
I don't know how far their license goes, and some of the older gen DVDs are out of print from them now.
I have been buying them to support Shout Factory and Hasbro at the same time.

I seem to keep putting off finishing FiM, because I am afraid of being sad the moment I finish it.
It is such a good cartoon, and I hate that it ended, but at the same time, glad that it is not continuously going on, like the Simpsons is right now.

You're not alone in that boat. I always kept up with the episodes as they came out and the final one was no exception. I cried during the last few minutes of the last episode but it was more tears of joy and nostalgia and gratitude than anything else. An intense emotional experience of reflecting on this ride I've been on for about ten years, to be sure, but it's an emotional experience I don't regret for a nanosecond.
I'm quite satisfied with the ending - they took care in ending the show with dignity, resolving many plotlines while also leaving various elements open-ended enough for fanon and G5 to build on. Watching it gave me a lot of closure.
Another way to look at it: fear and sadness are both negative emotions. The fear will weigh on you forever until you face the thing it's about and get to the other side. Then the fear will go away. Forever. You'll never again be afraid of the moment you finish the show once you've finished the show.
The sadness of the moment isn't a sure thing but even if you do experience it that way, it won't weigh you down forever the way that avoiding something you fear does - you will be able to cherish and rewatch FiM as many times as you want, and as much or as little of it as you want, forever. You'll be free to think and talk about the series in its entirety. And you'll be able to take personal satisfaction in finishing something you started. In having been there for the entire ride. Which puts you in a great spot to hop onto another with a clear conscience - like G5.
It's not so different from finishing a good book - the book won't stop being good just because you reached the end (and heh, people even get very annoyed when a book's author publishes it as they go but then abandons the project before finishing it). This video of a therapist analyzing the Pixar movie Inside Out goes into a lot of depth on how we'd actually go insane if we didn't experience the emotion of sadness - that, even if it's unpleasant, it's an emotion that's critical for finding closure and moving forward with our lives. It analyzes the other emotions, Joy, Fear, and Anger, and their value in the sentient experience as well.

Kinda glad to know G4 is still going, in the form of the comics by IDW, I found out.
-
I hope G4 is still kept alive, despite G5 being right around the corner.
I will be a little sad if people abandon G4 straight away.
I might be spoiled by the designs of G4 too.

Kinda watched a Season 7 episode way before I am even done Season 6, "All Bottled Up" is kind of an interesting episode, despite what some claim on YouTube.
I enjoyed the humor of it alot.
Felt weird to watch an episode out of order, but the premise seemed tempting.

So, a whole bunch more pony is going out of print, looks like it is mostly the older generation DVDs from Shout Factory. Kinda makes me sad...

I have played a few hours of the Project Triangle Strategy demo, and I think I might actually get that game when it comes out.

I saw that Equestria Girls Magical Movie Night DVD might be going out of print according to Shout Factory's website

I found out that Netflix made a whole bunch of "Happy Birthday" videos for their service and one of them is MLP: FiM themed and that is very adorable.
