  1. To be honest I don’t use them very often because I don’t understand them. I have a FB account but never use it. Twitter and Insta are not comprehendible, and Discord won’t let me sign on because their site never works. MLP Forums are the closest thing to a social network I’ve ever used.
  2. Ice Station Zebra (1968) Compelling story about a nuclear sub racing to the North Pole to retrieve a fallen satellite and its cargo of highly sensitive film showing secret installations of interest in the Cold War. Great performances by Rock Hudson, Ernest Borgnine, Jim Brown and the incomparable Patrick McGoohan, who took a brief break from filming The Prisoner to appear in this film. This movie was notable for being the favorite of Howard Hughes, who reportedly watched it several times a day in his secluded quarters, if you’re interested in a little bit of odd trivia. Battleship (2012). Not a brilliant movie, but it has plenty to keep me interested, which is surprising for a quick cash-in on a board game. The strategies are interesting and for some reason I always enjoy that. Maybe one of my ancestors was a tactician or something. It was also fun seeing the Missouri on the big screen, having been on board once in my distant youth.
  3. No video game ever made an impression on my childhood unless you count the misery they always caused me. I’ve never had any affection for any of them and always played under protest. Even if I had a different opinion of video games I doubt I’d hold them in any greater esteem than I would any of the old board games I used to play, because to me a game is a game; just a quick time waster with nothing significant enough about it to garner nostalgia of any sort. No one ever gets excited about playing Life, Scrabble or Pente because there’s no reason to. Granted, video games are more elaborate, but to me they’re more annoying too. Sorry to all you game enthusiasts out there; I know many of you are passionate about your hobby, so I hope you won’t tar and feather me, or worse yet, make me play your games!
  4. I watched Gun Gale Online again. Netflix was getting rid of the dubbed version so I gave it a nice send off. It’s still one of my top four favorite anime (excluding feature-length). It's too bad there was only 12 episodes; I'd LOVE to see more!
  5. I prefer Swiss. I like light, mild cheese. And even though American is mild, it’s not really true cheese but a ‘cheese food product.’ I do love it on burgers though, and it goes great on a liverwurst sammich.
  6. I like stuffed crust topped with anything and everything. If you can think up something unusual that I haven’t tried, plop it on there! (Okay, don’t get crazy and start topping my pizza with old socks and lima beans, you know what I mean!) If there’s an edible topping I haven’t tried, ram it at me. Pineapple and anchovies are definitely acceptable and welcome.
  7. Onion rings all the way. I love fries, don’t get me wrong, but how can anything top the crispy goodness of those lovely onions deep-fried in artery-hardening batter?
  8. Aside from the three I mentioned in an earlier post, I can now add my own wedding. To be honest it wasn’t a great experience for me. I was sick with nerves and couldn’t focus on anything. I wasn’t nervous about what was happening; I wanted to get married and knew I wouldn’t regret it. But when it comes to certain kinds of anxiety it doesn’t have to be logical, and my illogical mind was spinning out of control. So I went through the motions mechanically and got through it. As with anything new and momentous I knew I’d be fine after about two weeks and I was correct. That’s when I really settled into it and felt normal again. My wedding was private, with only myself, the groom, a best man, maid of honor and of course the priest. If anyone else would have been there I’d have frozen up completely. I thoroughly advocate marriage; I just prefer to get through it quickly and simply as possible.
  9. I might as well chime in. The best I’ve had is Detroit Motor City and Screamin’ Sicilian. Both are seriously loaded pizzas with great flavor. My go-to for the low price is Totino’s. I’ve probably eaten hundreds of them throughout my life and even though they’re not exactly fancy, they do have a very nice flavor. Jack’s makes a nice thin crust pizza (I’m surprised I forgot to add it to the list) and it’s another economy pizza with great taste. As much as I’ve always loved thick crust pizzas, I’ve come to appreciate the thin crust because I don’t end up feeling overly stuffed afterwards. Speaking of ‘stuffed’ it’s nice to have stuffed crust from time to time, even if it’s the store brand; it really makes a difference.
  10. Rapunzel and Flynn come quickly to mind, but I can’t ignore Belle and Beast.
  11. Most people don’t like spinach but I love it. Aside from that my tastes are pretty normal, which means I LOVE PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D CARE TO PUT IT ON! I also love chemical additives in my food. Whenever I eat something natural it ends up disagreeing with me; too much shock to a body brought up on yummy processed goodness. So keep the fruits and veggies in their place at the back of the line and keep the fake stuff to the fore.
  12. Before I had to give up coffee I used to drop an ice cube in it when I made it too hot, and I loved iced coffee right out of the fridge. Hot or cold it’s all pretty good.
  13. It wasn’t all that bad really. It was simple processed junk food and I’ve lived on processed food my whole life. I hated everything about school, but the cafeteria was one thing I could deal with. The pizza and burritos were my favorites.
  14. I bought a strand of 150 LED Christmas tree lights. I don’t like to take down my decorations so I have a little ‘auxiliary Christmas tree’ I put up from time to time when I want to feel Christmassy. So today I bought a new light strand for it.
  15. I haven’t been out today so nothing right now. But I do collect all the coins I come across into a tiny little ‘wishing well fund’ which I deposit in wishing wells at work or elsewhere. Right now they’re adding up pretty good.
  16. I had barbeque spare ribs with corn on the cob and a baked potato.
  17. I just trimmed my hair last week and cut it way too short. It was unintentional but it looks okay so I can live with it till it grows back.
  18. An unannounced guest came to my home, sick as a dog, and promptly got his hands all over every handle, knob and switch. He knows I’m an obsessive germophobe but the irresponsible ass decided he had nothing better to do than share his misery with all of us. Now, despite my getting him out as fast as I could and disinfecting every imaginable surface, I’m already starting to feel the inevitable signs of catching his cold. Now I have to worry about keeping my baby daughter from getting it, not to mention everyone else. So yeah, I’m just a tad pissed at that.
  19. I can name them all. It’s pretty basic stuff for Americans. I’ve been to most states and the handful I haven’t visited are pretty easy to remember anyway.
  20. I don’t believe it for a second. ‘Unidentified sources’ are no different than fabricated news, and tweets don’t count as anything but spontaneous yammering. I don’t doubt that Tom Brady’s wife is probably pushing him to retire, because that’s an annoying thing wives tend to do. But if Tom had his way I believe he’d continue playing, as he once said himself, “Until I suck.” He doesn’t suck; he’s still at the top of his game and I can’t believe we’ve seen the last of him because he’s not the kind of man to go out when he’s still got powder in the keg, and especially after losing that last game over a matter of a few seconds. People retire and un-retire in football all the time, so no matter what anyone says, I doubt we’ve seen the last of the GOAT.
  21. I’m constantly trying to escape reality. In fact, I consider the real world the distraction and my own inner worlds the true reality. Among the things that help me escape are using my home planetarium in my blackened room while I lay on my bed; or writing fictional stories and verse, watching movies and anime, listening to mood sounds like my Naturescape CDs which have ocean waves, rainy woods, cricket song, etc. I have an old Scent Stories machine I call a Smellitzer (a name I stole from old Disney Imagineers) which fills the room with a variety of scents depending on the scent disc I choose. Sometimes I put on one of those long 6-hour videos on YT, showing a sandy beach, rainy night or whatever. I even have a tiny little table fountain on my bed table; it has colored lights and the sounds of the water are very peaceful. Even my job is an escape from the typical world. So yeah, reality is overrated and I prefer my own custom experiences.
  22. A little under ther weather. Headache too. Blaaaaahh...
  23. I don't like: Know-it-alls who condescend to others, Malleable people who just follow the crowd without ever thinking for themselves, and defending it to their dying gasp, And a lack of empathy.
  24. Don't ever worry about that. I always come back...kinda like a rash.
  25. I’ve already posted here and my previous statement still holds. But I should add the finale episode of MLP, “The Last Problem.’ It wasn't any one scene, just the whole thing and seeing what became of all our beloved ponies. That episode killed me and I cried so hard I couldn’t stop. I’m glad I was watching it alone.
