web Reaction videos what do you think about them?
Dreambiscuit replied to cider float's topic in Media Discussion
I’m not into them. Most of the time they’re just people saying, “Hey, look at me, me, me!” and forget about the video they’re reacting to. I seldom get any commentary I’m interested in because I prefer to form my own opinions. I don’t need to give these people an ego boost by watching them posture for the camera and act stupid. -
I do it all the time (which is to say, I ask someone qualified to take care of it). It’s practical, easy and that way I can have a physical copy right in my hand. I don’t trust media formats I can’t get my hands on; there’s always something that gets screwed up and doesn’t work.

movies/tv Cartoon character lookalikes
Dreambiscuit replied to Sn0wblind's topic in Media Discussion
Jane Levy (from Monster Trucks) looks like Gadget Hackwrench; not only looks like her but acts like her too. That’s probably why I like that movie so much. -
gaming Which game console had the best library of games?
Dreambiscuit replied to Kyoshi's topic in Media Discussion
N64 for me. They had so many! And they were really getting into better graphics and gameplay. I always liked Nintendo far better than the other consoles and the line-up of games for N64 is a good example of why. -
movies/tv Guilty Pleasures (Movies/TV)
Dreambiscuit replied to sirseansy's topic in Media Discussion
Xanadu (1980). Absolutely ridiculous, but sometimes absolutely perfect. Kick Ass (2010). Another piece of low art that always seems to make me happy. Zombieland (2009). I’m getting less ashamed of liking this one. It really is a fun movie. Ghost hunting shows. It started with Ghost Adventures, but honestly they’ve lost me over time. Not many good shows of this kind, which is baffling considering how many there are out there. -
technology Ever Use A Beta Max Or Laser Disc Player?
Dreambiscuit replied to Denim&Venöm's topic in Media Discussion
We always had VHS but not beta. I have some old beta tapes of Star Wars for their collectible novelty, but never could play them. Laser Disc was interesting because they had EVERYTHING on laser, but they were so expensive no one could afford it. It was frustrating because they got all the rare stuff that was never released to VHS or dvd, as though to say “People who cough up the money for laser disc are the only purists, and no one else could possibly have an interest in these rare titles.” It was lame and now they’re gone. I never embraced HG anything to be honest. It costs too much and doesn’t really justify itself. Regular dvd is as hi-def as I need (I never even saw any quality difference in Blurays either). I’m cheap and easy to please. -
general media Spoilers: Avoid or seek out?
Dreambiscuit replied to The Wife of Law's topic in Media Discussion
I used to seek them out and watch them one frame at a time to get every detail I could get (which i did with the Star Wars prequels because I knew they wouldn't show anything too revealing no matter what). But nowadays I don't really like to know what's coming unless I'm indifferent to the movie or show in question. -
Old (2021). Not bad. It held my interest all the way through. Frustrating, tense, sad at times and engaging. M. Night Shyamalan manages to put together some interesting conversation pieces. The Aristocats (1970). What can I say? Perfect.

movies/tv Who is your favorite bad guy in a movie and why
Dreambiscuit replied to Ninja(Pinkie)Midget's topic in Media Discussion
Darth Vader, because dang, he’s Darth Vader! Dark yet classy in a way, iconic, and that breathing! You know you’re doomed even before you see him coming. Emperor Palpatine, because he’s so over-the-top evil and enjoys it; sarcastic, manipulative, calculating. Gotta give some style points there. He’s not supposed to have anything subtle or textured, like Vader's love of Padme; he’s just the bad guy, plain and simple. Scorpio, from Dirty Harry (1971). Truly a ground-breaking baddy that countless others have since imitated (but never duplicated!) Truly a sickening, creepy monster and subhuman slimebag. Kudos to Andy Robinson for pulling off that performance. -
movies/tv What's a TV series you've watched more than once?
Dreambiscuit replied to Lisa's topic in Media Discussion
Way too many to count, but here goes with a few highlights: Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Battlestar Galactica (the original 1979 show), Star Trek (1966), Batman (1966), The Prisoner (1966), Mission: Impossible (1966, pretty good time for TV!), Northern Exposure, LOST, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, Just Add Magic, Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse, and Dreamhouse Adventures, Miraculous Ladybug, Gun Gale Online, Girls und Panzer, and many, many more (yeah, I think I spent 80% of my life in front of the boob tube). Oh yeah, and MLP. -
gaming Things in games you wish you can do in real life
Dreambiscuit replied to cider float's topic in Media Discussion
Using lightsabers and the Force, Find and build cool and wondrous weapons out of stuff in garbage cans, Break open random crates and get free goodies and power-ups, Shoot zombies and sell their cigarettes and coffee for a quick buck, Respawn, Pause indefinitely if I get bored, and move on to a different virtual existence. -
Sakugan. It’s being simulcast so I have to wait for each episode. But it’s first episode was great.

Story of a Soul, The Autobiography of Ste. Terese of Lisieux. This is a game-changer. I wasn’t truly aware of Ste. Terese until recently, but the more I learned, the more I wanted and needed to know. This book is a fascinating account of her life and her doctrine of the ‘Little Way.’ It’s changed the way I look at life and the approach to living it. Extaordinary!

I get frazzled when I have too many things to do at once and not enough time to do it. I feel rushed and I start to lose it. Then I resort to my go-to stress reliever; dropping everything else and cleaning things furiously until I’m exhausted and feeling better.

I bought a heated lunchbox/portable oven for my office. I didn’t really need it but I didn’t really need a portable fridge until I got one last year, and now I can’t live without it. I hope you got the genuine GoPro batteries. I bought the generic kind for my GoPro 6 and the never charged up.

I used to go with my family to the Circus Circus buffet in Las Vegas when I was growing up. For some reason I always challenged myself to single-handedly put the casino out of business by eating them into bankruptcy. They didn’t go bankrupt, and I didn’t do myself any great favors. I usually polished off four heavily loaded plates, went home and spent the rest of the day lying on my bed, staring at the ceiling, unable to move. Those occasions account for the most I’ve eaten at any given time.

My favorite beer is Root Beer. Real beer tastes like something that someone forgot to flush. Try not to think of that the next time you imbibe.

Pomeranians; they’re cute and remind me of pudgy little foxes. Whippets are interesting too.

general Your Best Memories/Moments?
Dreambiscuit replied to Astro Mambo's topic in General Discussion
In addition to the things mentioned in my previous post here, I have to add the family vacations I had throughout my childhood; they made me the person I am today. I’d mention my wedding day, but I was not at my best that day to be honest (I enjoy being married more than the ceremony that started it all). And I can now add the birth of my daughter last July as a pretty big one on the list.- 19 replies

What sports team do you support?
Dreambiscuit replied to Rarity Paige Belle's topic in General Discussion
I guess I’ll go with the Buccaneers now that Tom Brady is over there. The Patriots had their chance to keep him and continue their legacy, but they blew it. So I’m with Tampa Bay now, not that I actually watch or follow sports. -
But that was a while back. You should see the state of it now! Yikes!

Another name for my other OC.
Dreambiscuit commented on TheRockARooster's blog entry in The Chronicles Of Rooster
I went with Ocean Bliss, with honorable mention to Mint Berrry Crunch. You really can't go wrong with any of 'em.
