What is up with the disappearing booster packs?! I just went to two walmarts and a target and I've been told they're not renewing their contract with the MLP CCG game!! AHHH!! they're not dying are they?! They make me happy. :/

I LOVE seeing more of the mane 6 families. Especially Fluttershy's!! Her parents are the sweetest things that's ever existed! I've already completed my toy collection of my fave family, The Cakes, now I'm going to need this family to add to my collection. (Probably the only time it's appropriate to say I want to add a "family" to my "collection" lol.)

I loved this episode. When Rainbow dash confides her concerns to the group, even though it was kind-of an embarrassing situation, they responded perfectly with support and love. That's the type of friendship love I like to see. Her trying to behave more like her friends so she would stand out for something other than her crashing was adorable and funny. She NAILED the Rarity impersonation! I love that they displayed the difficulties a person can face when entering into a new group (similar with any sports team, club or band) because they showed the real struggle of trying to fit into a group that has already bonded and the payoff that will come from sticking it out. This is a great message for their intended audience who may want to give up when things are difficult. Giving nicknames was a great way to show this because it's a pretty commonplace even in our culture to give nicknames as part of our bonding and it shows that even though her nickname was based on something that may have initially been seen as embarrassing, that it's good to have a sense of humor, and learn to laugh at your mistakes instead of taking everything so seriously. It was uncomfortable to see RD be put in that situation, because I've never seen her face these particular problems. But it was good to see some character growth with her. Love love love

Ahhh!! Love Love Love Love where Starlight's new personality has taken her. I absolutely identify with her inability to to make new friends because of old (not-great) habits. I love how she is openly emotionally vulnerable about how hard it has been for her. A lot of people (myself included) find it hard to talk about when they just aren't fitting in, and seeing this just made it seem like what it really is, a normal part of life. That's an AMAZING message for young children who are under a lot of pressure to fit in. And it's a great message for adults reminding us that it's ok to not have things figured out yet. Love love love. And the faces... omg Applejack's angry face is the cutest thing. Poor Big Mac tho, lol.

Anyone into the CCG game like me?

The reason I fell in love with MLP:FIM is because of the way Lauren Faust developed it as a positive place where girls/boys can learn to validate the "feminine" characteristics of play, love, magic and friendship (see Lauren's forward in The Elements of Harmony). I feel like the Equestria Girls have rebelled against that initial goal by reinforcing impossible body images, romances, cat fights and pre-teen drama all for the sake of having a humanoid doll on the market, or expanding their target audience. Equestria Girls looks adorable (especially the little bedroom playsets) but I just can't get over how much of a sellout it is. I feel like it's all the cute, with none of the heart. Does anyone else have the same problem? My intention isn't to *poop on parades* or be a Judging Judy here, I would honestly like to find a way to be able to enjoy this show. If you like EG... I am looking for an MLP Laniard to wear to the MLP:MSP con in June and I NEED NEED NEED a Maud plush for my sweet wife. My wife is autistic and identifies with Maud SO HARD. It's adorable.

Lauren Faust (American Emmy-Award-winning animator, writer, director, and producer, best known for developing Hasbro's animated television series My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic) developed MLP:FIM in hopes of contributing to the effort to support young girls and validate their form of play instead of allowing it to be ridiculed and seen as frivolous (see Lauren's forward in The Elements of Harmony Book. It's not really FOR men/boys. Not to say they aren't welcome to enjoy it along with the rest of us. Boys/men loving this show along with girls/women is kind-of the end goal. But they aren't the intended audience. That may make some people uncomfortable, but that's kind-of the point. It shouldn't. Which is exactly why we need the mostly-female cast. Children's literature is OVERWHELMINGLY male driven right now. http://www.theguardian.com/books/2011/may/06/gender-imbalance-children-s-literature MLP:FIM is one of the very few places for girls. Let's leave it.

I fell in love with MLP because of it's themes with friendship and diplomatic problem solving so intense gore or violence in pony form really destroys the whole image and 'feel-goods' for me. The sexual connotations disgust and infuriate me. This show was made for strong female leads to show girls that "being a girl isn't 'frilly pink silliness'" -Lauren Faust, The Elements of Harmony. The intention was to respect girls and their love of all things magical and friendly. The sexual connotations are disrespectful and once again reduce feminine characters to a way to serve others as objects. I'm glad I don't run into it here. The themes being so light and not really "fleshed out" doesn't bother me. I notice it, and sometimes the lack of development breaks the fourth wall for me, but I think its suiting for children. I'm just not MLPs intended audience, I'm cool with that. I'm happy it's there for kids.

I am an atheist... But I do like to pretend that there is a nice place to go when I die. My imaginary version of "heaven" is akin to that in What Dreams May Come, with Robin Williams in which you can create your heaven and make things happen there from your imagination. And so my heaven is a a combo of Equestria and Pixie Hollow. I would be SO excited to bake with Pinkie Pie, buck apples at the Apple Orchard, kiss the Cake twins, tour Canterlot but I think I would spend most my time in the Everfree Forest with Zecora.
