I guess I can see how season 1 has gotten a weirdly negative reputation here if half of this forum's users want the show to be serious and action-packed. Because as we all know, a kids' show about pastel-coloured ponies and friendship should be like Dragon Ball Z.

@CypherHoof And yet, those always had a degree of levity to them and a lot of humour, which some of the later two-parters have been lacking.

@AlexanderThrond I think that says bad things about the later two-parters though.

@CypherHoof Yeah, but some people on them seem to want two-parters to be like that all the time. Admittedly, I do like "Twilight's Kingdom," but that one has more of a soul than the others from around that time.
