    People are now calling "The Perfect Pear" the BEST MLP EPISODE EVAH, so I sure hope my contrarian side doesn't ruin that lovely episode for me. Personally, I would have been even more willing to embrace it if it had said the word "dead" even once.

      That not even the episode's faults :lie: With that TV-7 restriction (or Hasbro), it already did a great job.

      @Lambdadelta Certainly, but I don't like being reminded of this show's restrictions, and I feel a lot of the main emotional beats don't have any context because of that. Plus, I'm a little annoyed that some folks on this board have denied that the Apple parents are dead, which I do think is the episode's fault. I also complained that the flashback story is a bit insubstantial, but I've changed my mind on that a little.
