    I really don't understand how people can criticize the first Equestria Girls for being cliched and generic and then go on to praise the "Dance Magic" special. 

    To be honest, everything which has happened since makes me think I was too hard on "Friendship Games."

      People sure love bashing EQG 1, its not that bad, beside some cringeworthy FlashLight moments, dumb photoshop things and mediocre Villain Sunset, this movie is perfectly OK. 

      "Dance Magic" is so cliche that i can see it from a mile away. Like EQG 1, it's perfectly serviceable.

      EQG started to deteriorate really fast after Friendship Games.

      @Lambdadelta It has too much cringe comedy and doesn't make a lot of sense, but I think the first Equestria Girls has way more charm and humour than people give it credit for.
