    I just saw that season 8 song promo and I'm starting to get excited again. I should know better at this point, but they're doing something different. They're doing something different! Oh, please tell me that this means a complete overhaul. I am so, so ready for a gimmick season.

      @Califorum I tend to like this show for its characters and humour more than anything. At its best, I find these characters very relatable, and it's nice to have that through comedic, lightly fantastical situations. A "History of Equestria" could certainly have that, but it sounds somewhat less relatable to me, and I didn't particularly like the worldbuilding in season 7, so I'm a little skeptical that the show could successfully double down on that. 

      I just want the mane six to have direction again.

      I see thats kinda where we diverge there. I sort of want to see them phased out gradually and replaced with something newer and better.
