    Maybe my apathy towards MLP "lore" is part of why it's so easy for me to regard G5 as something entirely new. To me, new characters in the same setting would be way less interesting than the same characters in a new setting. If both are different, then whatever, it's just a new show.

      I mean, I don’t usually get attached to a specific setting that much anymore... for me, I just care too much about these characters to let them go. 

      Although I guess I’m not immune to this; I like the “Star Wars” world as much as the next person, for instance. MLP just sort of lost my attention there after a while.

      I don't know if I'll watch the new MLP show, but I wouldn't be surprised to see if I liked it better than FIM because it wasn't as wasteful.
