I wish there could be a simple "light switch" option for Dark Mode in your profile settings so
I don't have to mess with my computer by downloading files and whatnot.

Understandable, although here it's pretty much just installing a browser plugin, similarly to how one installs adblock, for example.
But yeah, I've been thinking about this too.. I think I could implement it like this on the forums themselves. Users would have the option to toggle theme in the profile settings like this:

Although, while I do have an access to this stuff, I'm not sure if it would be welcomed if I started toying there.
