Virus snafu. Virus kerfuffle. Virus hoedown. Lot's of naming options for this mess.
It hasn't been easy to deal with, mainly mentally. It has caused me more anxiety than I usually deal with on a daily basis and this being the only thing you hear about on TV or elsewhere has been incredibly demoralizing. A silver lining is that is has been a showcase of the US's many terrible systems but I fear nothing will be learned from it all in the end.

Yikes.
Now I will say that a sore throat is not a definitive showcase of the virus, my brother has had a throat issue lately too but it doesn't seem like the virus, at least not that I've heard. Right now though the atmosphere is fueled by paranoia and it sucks, I too have had plenty of worry. Even walking uptown (in a town that is super small no less) has been difficult for me to do because of the anxiety.

@strongwilled_pegasus As Kyoshi said, a sore throat is not a definitive symptom of SARSCoV2/COVID19... It might be best if you measure your temperature to see if you have a fever or not... If you don't, then it's unlikely that you've picked up the virus. Although if you do have a fever and develop a persistent cough, then you might potentially have contracted it... But I hope you haven't contracted it and that you'll be OK
