      Well, if you decide to watch Evil Dead, that movie is a whole lot gorier from what I've heard. ;) Honestly, the first SAW isn't that gory though. Probably even less gory than the two Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies you watched.

      I probably wouldn't put up with the gore, though, if I wasn't just so fascinated with the concept of each movie. John Kramer is a fantastic horror villain (though I'd personally use the term antihero), and I really like the message the movies put across.

      For example, the third film involves a father whose life is in bad shape because he's obsessed with avenging the death of his child. Jigsaw captures him and puts him through several tests that force him to choose whether to forgive the people involved in his child's death (and having to sacrifice something in exchange, such as the stuffed toys he was clinging to that his child had owned while alive), or do nothing and let each of them die instead.

      Unfortunately the ending to that one kinda blew it, though. :/

      Well from what you told me a woman gets violated by a tree. So that's probably the worse thing I'm going to see in that film.
