Snow

I have a problem with my pen pressure I was hoping someone here might know a thing or two about:

Every brush no matter how hard or soft I press the line will always start out at its maximum size and from there on I have full control until I stop and start a new line, there is a force fade in/out option but I feel it is somewhat restricting and would really appreciate any advice on this problem, thanks in advance.
