People like to call SAO a harem anime due to the fact that practically every female character Kirito intereacts with ends up falling for him.

That's a fair point, I wish Kirito would meet a girl who they were just friends with for once.

Eh, it's pretty bad if you ask me.

Every female character has the personality of a piece of cardboard and only exist so that Kirito can help them and seem like a more likeable character than he is (and so he can add them to his nonexistent harem, of course). Kirito himself is an insanely overpowered mary sue. The writing is decent at best during the first arc  (granted, there's two exceptions, namely the first episode and the murder mystery one), and downright terrible after that.

Just to quickly talk about your other points too, here's my view on those. The characters aren't the best admittedly in terms of fleshing them out, but I think they have enough individual traits to distinguish them from each other. Season 2 did a lot better on the characters front, where characters like Asuna, Sinon and Yuuki had WAY more depth to them than before, with Asuna maybe being the only exception, I have a feeling since she's the main heroine she got the most development. Kirito is likeable to me but I can totally see a sort of mary sue side to him, I get that. His prowess doesn't irk me often, I rather like it and I think the fact he's emotionally vulnerable and kind balances out his physical capabilities, however some moments are complete boosh, like him suddenly coming back to life after dying to Heathcliff with no real explanation given.

I dunno how to feel about this one, it doesn't really explain much. Formulaic? I don't think I've heard of another anime with a premise like SAO. Stereotypical? See my replies above. And the mental maturity thing sounds kind of mocking, as in you're saying "if you like this show you aren't mature". This reply puzzled me the most, sorry if I sound harsh but I can't really think of any other way to put it.

I watched a few epsiodes of it, and I liked it.

It seemed a little out of my tastes though, as I like funny, goofy anime mostly, though I do like some action anime. I don't know why this is.

SAO does have some good comedy moments I like to think, but the main focus is on the action and romance, as well as building the lore of the game itself, so I can see why it may not be as appealing to people who don't care for action.

I hear that it is pretty awful so I never bothered to check it out.

It's all a matter of opinion really, I get that way of thinking though. Sometimes when you hear something's bad, It's only natural human instinct to stay away from it, and that's fair enough. I don't think an entire franchise should be judged entirely on word of mouth though, whether I love or hate something I'll always at least look at it so I can justify my feelings about it.

I'm not a big MMORPG fan (can't stand WoW...) but the very premise of Sword Art Online is beautiful. Well, the English dub isn't very good, but the subbed version is very watchable. Come to think of it, I still need to watch the second season. :sunbutt:  And I still need to see the movie.

The premise does sort of shift focus from season to season unfortunately, and I prefer the first season over the second but that's not to say season 2 isn't worth looking at.

It's been a while since I've watched it, so I'm probably not remembering all of this right. I also only watched the first arc. It felt kind of like it was going for a harem anime style, but stopped after introducing the characters. I mean, there's what, three male characters (one of which is the protagonist) in the show compared to six girls? I've got mixed feelings with that, though. I'm not a fan of harem anime, but I'm also not a fan of not using set up plots (once again, it's been a while since I've seen the show, so I might not be remembering this right.) I did like the animation, though. From what I remember, the writing was pretty good. That sorta murder mystery episode was easily my favorite part of the series. I didn't like that it kept going on after the 15th-ish episode since that was a great place to end the show.

I'm probably going to rewatch it, honestly. I might give the second half of the show another try. From what I hear, there's a sequel series (with guns as a focus, so that's a plus.)

A lot of people compare SAO to a harem, but I never really got that comparison. Just because there are a lot of female characters, doesn't make it a harem in my eyes. And even if it was, I like harems, I don't see where the negativity is in that. There's a lot of mystery solving in SAO but I don't like how the conclusions Kirito and co come to are sort of out of the blue and aren't based on factual evidence.

There sure is a lot of negative response to it around the internet, that much I know... :D

I haven't watched it yet, so I can't really form a proper opinion. But from what I've seen in some videos and screenshots, the artstyle and animation are gorgeous, and some character designs are really cool as well. I tend not to let other's opinions influence me too much, so I'll most likely check it out for myself some time.

Not much to say about this one, I essentially agree on all fronts here.

  3. If it wasn't obvious enough already, I really like this show. It aspired me to start getting into MMORPG's recently, all the characters are likeable, the stories and the whole scenario behind it are really interesting to me, it just hit every mark for me, and that's not even talking about the production values of the show, like the beautiful art design or the epic music and voice acting (well, the Japanese voice acting anyway, like most anime the english dub is... Less than stellar to say the least). I'm not alone in thinking this either, I've seen high ratings for the show, It's gained immense popularity from anime lovers and gamers alike since It's introduction and overall It's become a massive successful franchise, and that makes me happy. But like every piece of media, it does have It's critics and people who despise it. The main source of negativity I've seen is the "Everything wrong with" parodies on the anime, the guy running the AniSins channel is REALLY not a fan of the show, and the people commenting are on the same wavelength. I can see where the criticism is coming from and still enjoy those videos though and take them with a grain of salt, even if I don't quite agree with some aspects (and hey, on the other side of the spectrum, he's made me realise flaws I never noticed before, and that's OK, nothing is perfect, I either enjoy the show too much to notice or aren't very good at reading into it myself so it helps somewhat I guess) he comments on over the videos. I can't help but feel a little embarrassed and ashamed of loving the show so much now because of that but my opinion Isn't going to change. So what are your thoughts on SAO? Of course be as negative or positive with comments if you want, just don't attack people for liking or disliking the show, OK? That's not cool. Oh, and one more thing, if you could, avoid posting spoilers for the new SAO movie in this thread please? I haven't seen it yet and I don't believe It's been released outside of theatres at this point in time.

And it spreads on the server, GG, new alt. Furthermore, do not, I actually can't stress this enough. Do not accept any kind of help UNLESS you've known the person for 3+ days. Also, do abuse people's mistakes. I almost got a hundred thousand gold for free in WoW once. I hesitated, my mistake as that was before they could have done anything against it. But, more often don't take ludicrous amounts of gold. Or other currency.

Oh, yeah... Before I forget, grind grind grind grind grind grind grind grind. Now repeat that for 500+ hours. In most of them. Oh god, the horror... The hours...! And then the next expansion comes when you're only ever gotten halfway to a million for no reason! I actually never did that one million though...

Oh, and use hotkeys if there are any. People will physically harm you over this, I'm not kidding. Just warnin' ya. People be violent.

Wow, that's a... Harsh world. Makes me wonder how anyone learned how to play these when they first came out since It's such a hostile environment.

Well It depends on what kind of MMORPG you're looking for. I wouldn't recommend Maple Story For Various Reasons which are you're forced to use the nexon launcher, but causes too much downtime on logging in to the game on this process, Lack of GMs and security activity, no Party Play, The Support aren't very helpful at all, It takes every week or 1 year to get the issues fixed, no endgame contents, no party play, too many events, and too much crashes and d/cs. As My friend told me about Maple Story, It's filled with events so Nothing to miss out on.

The others I may recommend is Final Fantasy XI and XIV, but they're both pay-2-play and you can get them on steam. I do believe you can try the game out, but it's just that you're gonna be on trial and you're limited to levels and some areas.

I guess it helps that Maple Story doesn't really interest me, I've looked into it, It's not my kind of thing. And if It's that emptied of content I may end up staying away from that one. As for FFXI/XIV I may try that one, but only when I can pay for it, I don't like being restricted from levels, areas, whatever, that bugs me in games.

My advice is to not bother the higher level players asking for advice. That tends to annoy them pretty easily. Sometimes you'll get lucky and stumble upon a higher level player who is bored and will take you "under their wing" so to speak. Otherwise, I would suggest getting to lvl cap as soon as possible.

I have only played 2 MMOs in my life, Dragon Ball Online (about 5,000 hours+) and Tera(around 800-1,000 hours), so I am not an authority on everything MMO related. But within those games, especially the former of which, I can tell you that the best thing to do is become self sufficient. Focus on making friends and stuff AFTER you have become competent. Don't bother with joining guilds until you reach level cap; otherwise you are seen as a liability instead of a welcome member.

At the end of the day, just try to have fun. Many MMO players will take things way too damn serious. Especially when it comes to pvp. Just pretend you are playing a single player RPG until you get at least close to level cap, and then expand outside of your comfort zone =^-^=

Another things, never ever EVER ask other players for in game currency lol. That is one of the most annoying things ever! >.<

I guess I'll see what happens with that. It's alright, I may end up working solo anyway.

In total that's like 6 THOUSAND hours so I'm pretty sure you've MMO'd plenty enough for me to trust your word. Then again I may not end up playing either of those, so I guess this is advice relating to those specific games, but I'll try and apply that logic to my games and see where it goes.

I have every intention of having fun, see, I'm not a competitive person, I'd prefer to work TOGETHER with players rather than against them, I probably won't even touch PVP.

There are really people who ask for currency? Jeez, talk about selfish... I mean as far as I know grinding enemies and completing quests should surely satisfy people looking for money.

  7. Hiya! So, I never really used to get into MMO's in my younger years because I always found them so confusing and hard to navigate, but I think I'm at a period in my life where I can try to wrap my head around it, and after having a small look into the various games people are playing, I've really wanted to start playing them, although it was actually mainly SAO that kinda sold me on the concept. But the problem is I don't know how to ease into the genre, and there's also the difficulty of higher level more experienced players making fun of me for being a noob, I don't wanna be put in that embarrassing position. I'm thinking of starting off with Neverwinter, mainly because It's free to play so I can afford it, what with most MMO's having high prices, and some even having monthly paid subscriptions, combined with me having to console game because I won't have a good gaming PC for a while yet, my choices are limited, any recommendations could also be helpful though. So any fellow bronies here have some good advice for beginners?

Being likable, while not bad, isn't enough to make a good character, at least not for me. And the likability dissipates if they're portrayed negatively. Princess Celestia is easily the worst victim of this flaw, so I'll use her as an example. At first she was just shown as a figure that Twilight looked up to and was the occasional quest-giver and occasional helper. Fine. I'm disappointed there wasn't more, but it wasn't terrible at the very least. However, "A Canterlot Wedding" aired, and she tried to take action for the first time only to fail to make an impact. I would've been fine with that if the show allowed her to make up for this, but that never happened. Equestria gets into other kinds of danger, and she gets tossed aside like some old garbage. "The Crystal Empire" made her intentions and judgment look questionable, "Princess Twilight Sparkle" had her captured and need rescue, and "Twilight's Kingdom" made her look like an idiot for putting faith in the obviously unreliable Discord while also contributing nothing to stopping Tirek. On that note, she has never done anything to stop any villain that has shown up with "The Return of Harmony" as an exception, and I've even become cynical about her depiction in that episode. That season 4 finale made her look so terrible that there was no way someone like her could keep a country stable for 1000 years without some bullshit explanation. The character I thought was wise and competent and wanted better spotlight on suddenly became a loser whose positive reputation could only stem from dumb luck. And the season 5 finale somehow managed to make things even worse.

There have even been episodes revolving around the CMC or one of them, so there's no reason the alicorns couldn't have gotten focus other than lack of imagination.

You make a good point, and you're right, some of these like Princess Twilight Sparkle were pretty dumb with how they portrayed her (I mean come on, I get they needed a plot but you can't have one of the most powerful ponies in the shows lore be captured THAT easily, I'm fine with the concept because I think it shows alicorns aren't as overpowered as Equestrian lore makes them out to be, it shows weakness, and how Twilight has grown close to the level of her teacher, but it loses all effect when it happens so quickly without any sort of fight) but I like to think A Canterlot Wedding  and Twilight's Kingdom are respectable decent episodes, when it comes to her. Here's the thing, Discord USED to be untrustworthy. He's changed, he's reformed, so even though he double crossed everyone in the end, it wasn't unreasonable for Celestia to trust him, he's changed a lot since Season 2, and if anything it was actually a good thing Celestia trusted him because without that the episode wouldn't happen and Discord wouldn't have learned the valued lesson he did, nor would he have the last key needed for the chest. Still, I guess it would be nice if she contributed more to a threat though.

They won't, that was just an attempt at making Starlight + friends more likeable.

But the thing is they were already likeable from the start, at least in my view and depending on the episode. I've grown bitter and used to the fact that people will continue to just hate on an episode because they have an irrational hatred for Starlight, though as for the others last time I checked they have a decent reputation. I get that's an opinion based thing and I understand people may just not like certain characters and that's fine, but I've never seen anything on the same level as how the fanbase treats Starlight.

  10. 21 hours ago, Number62 said:

On the contrary, I want fewer alicorns in the show for the same reason you said. Celestia and Luna were already enough, and I cried foul when Cadance and "A Canterlot Wedding" first came up. I was more accepting of more alicorns later on, but only if there was going to be a good reason and if the show was going on expand on them, and not "just cuz" in the case of Cadance.

The non-Twilight alicorns (especially Celestia) never doing anything in the 2-parters is my main complaint, and the problem of those characters continuously getting pushed aside has only worsened over time. Those episodes had stories that were more appealing to me in concept, but what was put on screen generally haven't worked for me. If I have to be more honest, I hate almost all of them at the very least. That's why I prefer a reboot that cuts out these kinds of stories and the alicorns entirely or a reboot that actually gets into the alicorns. Basically, do it right or don't do it at all.

I don't want them to necessarily get rid of the alicorns we have entirely, because their characters are likable if anything counts, and I guess if Cadance wasn't an alicorn how were we supposed to take her role seeing over the Crystal Empire seriously? I don't LIKE that they don't do anything either, but I do get why. The Mane 6 are our main focus, the show is built and revolves around them and the alicorns are secondary characters at best, they need the spotlight... Oh wait... I hear the Season 6 finale talking. Yeah, if they can do it with some randomly selected nobodies + Discord, I don't see why the alicorns don't get their own 2 parter.

Nope, i dont want it to be rebooted, i dont trust any cartoon companies can rebooted anything properly, Teen Titan GO, Ben 10... fucking stop.

If FIM has to end, i want Hasbro just move to the new generation with better animation program (like Harmony, they dont have to use tradition animation, puppet is fine if they are lazy).

If FIM has to be rebooted, Disney is a safe choice, their channel has many good shows, their writting are fast-paced, they can touch more dark subjects than Hasbro do and they have fucking big money to hire good writers. Yeah, Disney are my best bet if this franchise has to rebooted. Screw CN and Nickedoleon. Even i dont trust any reboots but i think Disney will make thing less stink, i guess.

Eh... "many" good shows is kind of exaggerating it to me, there are only 2 I could ever really get into on that channel. You're right on the dark subjects thing though, I'd love to see more of that come out of the show.

While I have enjoyed this show in some respects, I've been dissatisfied with the whole product because of the massive waste of potential with the magic and mystery presented in the very first episodes. Just remembering that the alicorn sisters exist, I've grown disinterested in the lives of the Mane 6. We've gotten plenty of 2-parters with higher stakes involved, which appealed to me on paper, but those actual episodes have hardly entertained me. Since the sisters, especially Celestia, have only looked like idiots as the show continued, there's no way an episode at this point can fix all the damage done in the previous 6 seasons because that would make them (again, mostly Celestia) completely different characters.

Thus, I wouldn't mind a reboot. If the creative team stuck only with slice-of-life stories and excluded all of the mysteries and alicorns, I wouldn't be as irritated about the lack of alicorns. Or maybe the new show can make better use of and expand on this seemingly interesting universe. In other words, a reboot would be a blessing in disguise.

Eh, sorry, I don't really see it the same way you do. I think they've explored tons of different subjects and stuff with a variety of magic, I think all the mystery from the start of the show about the alicorn sisters was unravelled rather nicely by the end of the 2 parter. The Mane 6 are the most interesting characters in the show to me, and they'll probably stay that way. Why? Because Celestia and Luna, maybe Cadance to some extent... Don't do ANYTHING at least half the time when these dangerous situations arise each season. And personally, I'd rather have them keep the show going as it is now, It's the best road forward, and I choose not to think of it as a blessing. Plus, my problem is, if there were more alicorns in the show like you seem to want, I think that would devalue their presence in the show as a whole, they're supposed to be special and unique but if the place is full of them that just makes Equestria overpowered.

I want need Spin Master and/or Platinum Games to buy MLP after an imminent rating bomb destroys FiM. The former owns Paw Patrol, whose own main 6 are much more stable and better with teamwork and problem solving than the FiM Mane 6 in general (the pups don't fight and they only need 11 minutes to solve a problem). And it knows better than to use all-powerful villains that can only lose by being kind and/or stupid enough to let the extremely outmatched heroes win. Meanwhile, the latter owns Bayonetta and would know how to provide MLP with proper, super-epic video game adaptations. To elaborate: Platinum Games would utilize unicorn magic, pegasus weather control, and earth pony weapons in increasingly epic ways against equally insane super-beasts.

Shut up and take my bits!

I never knew Spin Master owned Paw Patrol (not that I care enough about it to watch it honestly). And on the fighting level of things, I don't think fighting as a whole is wrong, It's just when to and not to fight over what that needs to be considered, Paw Patrol can't be good if It's teaching people to let others walk all over them.

On the Platinum Games thing though, hell yes! I even recall saying once that if an MLP game was ever to be considered, I'd be most excited if it was Platinum Games developing it, they've done some awesome stuff with other IP's, and hey, one of those IP's is Hasbro's very own Transformers, so It's not like their IP's haven't been proven to work well.

If MLP were to ever be sold, it would be sold at big money. Any company that would invest big money into MLP is gonna make sure they know what to do with it.

I can't picture a company like Disney acquiring it simply because they know they would have to let the fandom exists.  They protect there trademarks like crazy. They know MLP just wouldn't work with them and would be wildly unpopular because of there extreme trademark protections.

One reason I can picture a big anime company to buy it is because it's right up there line.

They know about fandoms and such. They know how to make money with these things.

It would be a big investment but I think a big enough anime company would definitely be interested and see the potential for huge profits.

That's a fair point, Disney probably wouldn't do it because of how much fan content comes out of MLP which would get destroyed.

As for the anime thing, yes, they know about fandoms, how to make money with things... With their own stuff. My main thing against it is that MLP is an American property and since an anime network is obviously gonna need to put the Japanese fanbase first, they'd have trouble getting MLP to appeal to a Japanese market without pissing off the fans overseas.

Here's the thing, MLP has WAY less stuff in It's canon and isn't as confusing as star wars. To my knowledge there's the show, Equestria Girls, the merch and the comics, that's it. I'm not saying that would put Disney in the right but It's something to think about.

If Disney bought it they would probably just shelve it as an individual property as they do a lot of things and just merge it into their other properties... so if you want more twilight you have to take Donald, Goofy and Mickey with her.

To be honest I cannot see another company taking the reigns and knowing how to run it properly.... too many would want to make it THEIR vision, which more than likely would not mesh with what people have grown to expect from the show. And after they screwed it up, instead of realizing their mistake and fixing it, the company would do what 99% of companies do... blame the writers and bury it claiming no one likes it anymore.

Oh, right, like they did with Disney Infinity? Because that turned out SO well... I understand the benefits of merging your properties as long as you've still got the original IP doing It's own thing as well, but Disney take way too many liberties with that sort of thing, they sunk tons of IP's into that game which probably could've had their own games instead.

The sad part is It's not them coming up with a vision, It's someone taking a vision, changing it (almost never in a good way) and hoping people will see it as theirs now and that It'll still be successful.

I want FIM rebooted; it being like G1 transformers and endlessly remade and re-examined is my pipe dream. I honestly wouldn't mind if FIM ended right now and they made a FIM reboot right now, so long as it was good.

The ISSUE here is not that it gets rebooted, but WHO is rebooting? are they a quality team? Will they give the characters care and focus? Like, if we get something like Legendary defender voltron for a reboot, that's great, but if we get Voltron: the third dimension for carrying things on, well, damnit.

Eh, I don't know about that. That's one thing I've always criticised about Transformers as an IP, they keep rebooting it too damn fast before the current version has time to simmer, and as far as I'm concerned it never gets as good as gen 1 was, but that's just me.

Sorry if I seem a little pessimistic about this whole thing, like I said in the OP, I'll take a new generation over a reboot (and I'm one of the people who are glad FIM's been running so long so that's saying something), and that's more or less because I've grown a bitter hatred towards them over the past few years because they're barely ever done right. Most TV networks I know can't make a good reboot to save their life, that's just how I see things now. I honestly can't think of any team, even after all this discussion, who doesn't have a chance of fucking up.

I wouldn't want MLP to be bought by them mainly because the state they're in now feels like the state Nickelodeon was in a couple years before the quality sloped downwards....I'm not sure if the same will happen for CN but it's definitely concerning.

I don't hate CN as a company, in fact I loved the sudden WAVE of amazing cartoons that came out after their last failure, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Steven Universe, these have all been some of my favourite cartoons of my life and that's just a few. But all that does is make the fact they're making tons of new really bad cartoons more painful because I can know they've done better. I'm still really bitter about the Ben 10 and PPG reboots as well as Teen Titans GO, It's all garbage to me and when you look at the originals you see not garbage but It's like they can't make not garbage anymore. It worries and angers me at the same time, I would NEVER put FIM in their hands with the opportunity, not right now anyway, a few years ago, maybe I would.

If this situation happens hopefully I end up as one of the head writers of the series as based on my theories on MLP I could bring them to action. I would probably have a side series on YouTube that's a QNA show with my OC Techno where he explains the exact workings of past situations and scenarios in the show. It would be for sure interesting. :)

I could see the concept working well, as long as the theories are at least solid to the point they're believable, I don't mean to bash all theory makers in general but some of them come up with some reeeaaalll stupid stuff. I'm not a fan of just inserting OC's into the franchise but again, as long as they do it well I don't see any harm in it.

Nothing, because that would never happen, unless someone buys Hasbro.

I never said it would happen, It's just kind of a "what if" scenario I came up with.

Not much, cross my fingers It'll be good and otherwise.. oh well, too bad. It'll probably never happen unless Hasbro is purchased by a different company. What won't happen for a long time because they have money printers like the Transformers movies / Transformers brand.

I guess in some cases It's better to chill back and not worry about the situation much. If something turns out terrible, it just turns out terrible, move on with life. That's a good philosophy now I think about it.

It would depend on the company buying Hasbro.

I could see a good company like Disney buying Hasbro. In which case , I'd be pretty overjoyed at the idea of FiM being rebooted into the Disney Franchise. If it were other companies though like Nickelodeon....I'd just never watch the new Reboot....and consider what was the last season of non-reboot FiM to be the true last season of Ponies.

Disney could screw it up pretty easily though, they're far from perfect.

Perhaps...but considering their track record...They'd probably be our best bet.

I would be confused if the whole scenario actually happened.

But if it were to happen, than it would probably be Disney who would purchase the rights to MLP and create a new series.

And it's not like that would have to be a bad thing seeing how Disney in this decade has made shows like Gravity Falls, Milo Murphy's Law, Star Vs the Forces of Evil, Tangled the Series, and the upcoming Ducktales reboot that looks like it will be really good.

Wow, a lot of people are betting on Disney huh? I guess it makes sense considering they're a big company that obsesses over buying out properties. But I wouldn't trust them myself, mainly because they bought Star Wars and look what happened to Star Wars. I totally side with Vulcan on the Nickelodeon thing, as much as I love the character, I would NOT want them to make something like "Planet Derpy" out of it which terrifies me. Disney screw up a lot, but I feel they've made a comeback in recent years, in fact i prefer their modern stuff over the old stuff, I doubt they would erase the brony fandom though, that's overkill. But then again the Disney Channel has barely any shows of quality on there. Gravity Falls is over, Ducktales I don't trust for a second because look at other recent cartoon reboots and I guess Star is all they have going for them right now. Nah, I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world if Disney got it, It's certainly better than other companies for this sort of thing. Because at least GF ended on the creator's own word, channels like Nickelodeon or (I'm really surprised these guys haven't been brought up yet) CN can't even keep their OWN IP's good so how the hell would I trust them with FIM. What I'm trying to say in short is Disney is the lesser of the evils, but they wouldn't have a guaranteed success rate with FIM either.

  17. So I'm bored and have nothing better to do so here's a little something for people to think about. This is a scenario that probably won't ever happen, It's just something funny to think about. So imagine that Friendship Is Magic ends, and years after It's conclusion, Hasbro, almost going bankrupt, is forced to sell the rights to some of It's franchises in order to keep itself running. The rights to MLP get sold in the process and because whoever bought it as a company have noticed the massive positive reception and sweet sweet money MLP FIM printed they decide to do a reboot. Not a new generation, just a new version of the Friendship Is Magic continuity. Personally I think if that happened in some screwed up weird world where Hasbro eventually loses success, if they rebooted it really depends on how much talent the people working on it have, and whether people actually put the effort in rather than just doing it for the cold hard cash. I know Hasbro crams a lot of things in the show to sell merch but at least they're honest about it and the writers actually make it fit into the plot. God knows what other companies would do with FIM in It's possession, the reboot would have like a 10% chance of being good. I'm not a fan of change, but I would rather have Hasbro make a new generation of characters and a new world, rather than have the current one left in the hands of someone who could screw up a new version faster than this series is going into seasonal rot. What do you think?

  18. Personally I prefer redemption over something harsh, unless I think the villain is completely irredeemable or would never change like Tirek. Redemption is just a nicer way to go about dealing with villains rather than killing someone like that. I've been blind to this kind of thing in the past but I've learned that there are some villains who would make a good turnaround and others that wouldn't. Plus redemption better fits the themes and tone of MLP.

    >.> That definitely seems overpriced to me lol. I'm not all that familiar with British pounds, but here in the US you can buy a GTX 1070 version for only $1,200

Yeah, prices like that are more normal around Britain, It's kind of a bummer but It's within my price range. I'm not getting it for certain, but It's definitely a big option for me. Because trust me, I do NOT wanna import.

I would personally recommend against Asus for a gaming PC.  Their machines are hi-spec but their quality leaves much to be desired.  Every one of their products I have owned has ended up having some kind of problem.

My recommendation for PC hardware is MSI.  Not only are the specs good, but their hardware has always been rock solid.  If you can drop a grand, MSI makes complete desktops now:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MS5LIK7/ref=asc_df_B01MS5LIK75005699?ascsubtag=s1496100976892qqe2a52417&tag=52417_iceleadscom-20&creative=395261&creativeASIN=B01MS5LIK7&linkCode=asn

Granted I have only ever bought MSI components but they have never done me wrong.  Also, MSI has excellent customer service (Asus customer service is passable), you get humans almost immediately when calling them and they are very good at working out any problems you might have.

That seems good, I'll take it into consideration. The only problem is I can't seem to find that same PC on the Amazon of my region, so if I really wanted it I'd have to import and that's kind of a no no in my book unless absolutely necessary.

Here have a gander at these videos~

^Remember, both are available in lower spec'd versions than the ones seen in the videos. Also, mind Linus and his cringe-worthy sense of humor lol

Alright, so I might settle for the first one and dug up something here. Since there are a lot of tier versions of the PC, would you say this one is mid-tier enough?: http://www.ebuyer.com/766788-asus-rog-g20cb-gaming-pc-g20cb-uk002t

I know you are intimidated by building a computer but I think you should seriously consider learning how to do it rather than going prebuilt. When I was considering PC gaming I was so scared to build a PC I almost went prebuilt. I eventually was conviced by friends to learn how to do it and I did it and it was a fantastic learning experience. You can use logicalincrements and pcpartpicker to find parts you want and the guy I learned how to build PC's from is a guy on YouTube called Carey Holzman. Very detailed step by step build guides.

Thanks for the offer, again, but as you did say, I'm intimidated building up my own PC, I just know It's something I can't do. I'm not a builder of things, never have been, never will be, but thanks for the suggestion. Basically, It's not you, It's me is what I'm saying.
