If you want a pre-built, you cant go wrong with either of these:

^You can buy mid tier versions for around $1,000-1,500 in various electronics shops on the internet as well as in Best Buy. Both are small in size, have great cooling, and offer great value for performance/ build quality as compared to other prebuilts =^-^=

That sounds pretty good, could you tell me what these models are called? It doesn't seem to say in the post.

  2. Congratulations, you've stumbled on the post of the noobiest at PC gaming in history (I'm not a full on PC gamer, I'm multiplatform). Sorry if I'm gonna sound stupid or if I drone on a bit, I'm nervous about this whole thing and I've only been getting back into the swing of using this forum, just in case any questions come up though, here's an FAQ:

Why aren't you using a PC gaming place to ask about this? - Because this is literally the only forum I like/trust, there's not much of the usual irrational spouting and harrassment you usually find in other places

Why don't you look it up yourself? - Trust me, I've searched this thing to death alright, I can't seem to find anything, whether I'm just being stupid or I'm looking in the wrong place I dunno

Why don't you build it yourself? - Because I'm just not good at that. I know a lot about PC hardware from school teachings but there's a difference between knowing the theory and being good at putting it together, and looking at the stuff you have to do, I am NOT good at putting the stuff together

So I'm trying to find a good mid-range gaming PC because I accidentally backed a game on Kickstarter and chose to get the PC version reward and not the console version. The Kickstarter exclusive DLC I only have codes on for PC, and It's too late to change it so I'm kinda stuck really. The current PC I have is, well... Shit to put it blunt, it struggles even running most games on low settings. Now I'm not the richest man in the world and I'm aware I gotta compromise, build up the money I need through housework since I'm not old enough for a job. But the higher the cost the longer It's gonna take. I don't mind if wherever you point me to Isn't "top of the line", I just want something that can play most games decently on "High", I can live without "Ultra/Epic/Whatever a game dev might call the highest mode", because I wanna focus on price and performance more than graphics, but I don't want it to look like mud either. Anyone who's experienced with this wanna give me pointers or link me somewhere useful? It'd be greatly appreciated so thanks :) If it helps I live in the UK, I'm aware different places service different areas.

  3. So far, from what I've been hearing people saying this whole subject (at least in the brony fandom) has a very mixed reception. Some people feel it just has some issues, others feel It's been going on too long, and others either hate the show outright. There's some stuff I can sort of agree with. The jokes don't always hit, some episodes are terrible at dealing with certain issues, and shock/edgy humour is really take it or leave it depending on who you are. Though I will comment that some of the replies here seem to be suggesting that Family Guy ONLY relies on this so called "offensive" (and I put that in quote marks as I addressed the issue with people finding this offensive int he original post) shock humour and nothing else. It's fine if you think that, I just really don't see where that viewpoint is coming from, this show can be really smart sometimes, at least I think, sadly I haven't seen as much of that in later seasons. But I guess the root of the problem for me now that I have a general idea of the vibe is why It's always Seth McFarlane's shows in particular that get flak for being a little more mature and bold, what I don't get is why Family Guy is the target every time, or American Dad, when there are plenty of other shows leaning on the more mature side of comedy like Rick and Morty and South Park, and they don't usually catch any of it (No discredit to either of those shows though, I love South Park and Rick And Morty, I'm just saying why do certain shows get treated differently when they are generally doing the same thing.)

  4. Yeah, I know this is a topic which could have been started years ago, and I'm a little late to the party, but recently researching the topic has intrigued me and until the movie or seventh season comes out I don't really have anything actually MLP related to talk about, that's why I've kinda been slumming it up in the Beyond Equestria section, so sorry if this seems out of place or not too relevant. So let's talk about Family Guy, a show which to me at least, is getting tons and tons of undeserved hate and has been for years, from critics, the general public and even other cartoon creators such as South Park being one of the more extreme examples. I'm gonna sound like a bit of a Family Guy fanboy right now so before I go ahead I do wanna clarify I don't think of Family Guy as a perfect show, in fact it has some problems, a lot of them. The series has suffered a bad case of seasonal rot in my eyes, and it hurts for me to say that. Characters have been flanderised, a lot of the episodes rely more on gore and sexual content for laughs, it can still be funny from time to time and a lot of the jokes for me are a guilty pleasure, like some of the more offensive ones, but I am aware the show is steadily getting a little lower in quality as time goes on. That and there's a lot of unoriginal or badly written plots, and it generally suffers the more common symptoms of seasonal rot, the only thing that's never been bad is the animation, and if I had to pick a lowest point it would be the ratings stunt where Brian was killed off for a little bit. I could also get into detail on the things I LIKE about the show but we'd be here all day, in short the characters while incredibly different and admittedly poor tasted jokers today, do still have a decent amount of good moments that shine through the writing. But back to the topic at hand. I'm sick of all the overwhelming negativity the show's received, and I think It's mainly to do with the use of the cutaway gag and the fact that a lot of general society is honestly a little weak boned and really can't seem to take a joke. It's satire people, this show wants to rely on more crude humour and it can if it wants to, this is a cartoon featuring a talking dog and a smart baby evil genius, stop taking everything so seriously and assuming this show is attacking whatever groups you're in. Going back to the cutaways, they're a double edged sword for me. On one hand, the cutaways can be very funny still at times and are a nice refresher to take us away from the main plot for a short burst of comedy, this show practically invented this kind of humour and I think it deserves applause for that. On the other though, it can make the plot feel rather disjointed and odd, fewer and fewer jokes are smartly written into the main plot and related to the story of the episode, or there can be plain unfunny or bad ones. And of course the humour as a whole can get rather bland, and there is such a thing as a line for low brow humour, which Family Guy sometimes crosses. Point is, I think people are taking the show's style o humour and seasonal rot, and blowing the situation way out of proportion. "Worst show of all time"? Do me a favour and do a quick search, you'll find plenty of cartoons and shows in general that are much worse than Family Guy. Every show likes to handle itself differently, Rick and Morty does, South Park does, and they usually stay without nearly as much criticism, why can't Seth and the writers make the show how they want to make it (with a formula that clearly appeals to a lot of people) without people in the dozens giving it flak?

  5. I have not watched any of it yet. I LOVED Samurai Jack back in the day. Can't say my expectations are very high considering how bad cartoon reboots have been lately, PPG, Ben10, Teen Titans Go, the list goes on~

I'm not so sure I am digging the more "mature" vibe of this continuation to Samurai Jack. I saw a trailer on Adult Swim and it looked very... "generic adult cartoon", ya know?

I have more confidence in this new season, as I feel it was a much better direction to go in than a reboot, a lot of the people who worked on the original show including It's creator crafted this new season, that was a good sign and it shows. I haven't watched too many episodes of Samurai Jack's original run, but I can safely compare what I have watched to this new season just because It's a little darker and has some mature elements thrown into the mix, it doesn't lose any of that sweet sweet charm or the spirit of the original, It's the perfect balance of new and old for me, however I can see while the darker vibes might throw people off.

Considering the current adult cartoons right now this is a breath of fresh air to me, I wouldn't call it the best thing I've ever seen, but It's not generic to me.

I loved it, it's great. The animation is gorgeous, the new soundtrack is fantastic, the action scenes are amazing, and it's just the perfect revival in my opinion. It manages to be more "Mature" without losing the spirit of the original. Episode 1 was pretty good, but I thought episode 2 was just amazing.

Having seen the first two episodes, I'm pretty happy to say it isn't. It's darker than the original sure, but nothing feels out of place. There's a bit of extra blood here, some more mature themes the original show couldn't tackle there, but nothing too unrealistic for the original show. Still the same art style, just updated a bit, still the same action, the same sense of humor too, they haven't gone full serious, unlike what the trailers show, both the episodes got a good laugh from me.

Pretty much in full agreement here, I'm so glad they kept in the theme song too, essentially I'd just be repeating myself over and over and I've already gone into detail on what I think of the show's new tone, but this pretty much sums it up quite nicely.

  6. I've only watched a very little amount of Samurai Jack back when it was Netflix, so I wasn't too attached going into it.

I only saw the first new episode and I liked it.

I found it interesting, I might check out the second one.

Seeing how there is only going to be 10 episodes, if I decide to watch all of them, than it shouldn't waste too much of my time, if I am not that big of a fan of them.

    But so far so good.

Well, I'm right along with you on that one. I'm waiting on the second episode to come out in my area, I'll watch them as they come out. Like I said I didn't watch much of the original 4 seasons as a kid but this new series has me hooked.

  7. So I'm a little late to the party I'm aware, but the new Samurai Jack season started running earlier this month and I was finally able to tune in to watch the first episode, I thought It'd be nice to gather some more opinions on it. The general reception for the new season has been stellar, and I'm very impressed by that considering the show hasn't aired for 11 years. It just goes to show the guys at CN that they don't need to make half baked, already dating reboots of their existing shows, they can just get the people who worked on the show together and allow for a new season (Yes It's limited and there'll be no more after this but damn it It's better than nothing!) and it also shows that follow ups of cartoons and the like don't always have to be super kid friendly as long as they stay within the spirit of the show. The SJ creators wanted to create something with a more serious tone and I fully support that, It's interesting to me. I understand that shows like that can't air on the main CN network, but they have Adult Swim, and It's truly awesome to see them finally realise that and how to utilise it, maybe It'd clear up most of the crappier shows on AS. So what do you think? I loved the show, It's art style, acting, tone, the music it was all awesome, I never watched that much SJ as a kid so It's an exciting experience.

  8. This is actually the first I've heard of this and I'm actually really glad to hear it. I have Autism myself and I know that people with mental conditions aren't often featured in games unless they're some kind of stereotypical psychopath. And the great part is without hearing about it I would've never guessed Symmetra is autistic, their subtle representation of this fact is great. Just because someone has a mental handicap does not mean they act radically different to other people or are high on that spectrum. As someone who has been dealing with issues revolving around these mental problems (I even recently posted in the life advice section seeking help about this subject so I find it extremely ironic I stumbled on this post.) It's good to see games and media treating this kind of thing with respect and if it went more public it might help benefit society somehow. It's a long stretch but hey, someone might learn something.

  9. It is just one of the ways Activision is fine-tuning the system to make people keeping playing it for thousands of hours. The original game was designed with a type of gameplay system that focuses on making people addicted. Not to mention Destiny 2 will probably launch in a shallow, incomplete state like the first one. Personally, I think not being able to transfer characters will be the least of the game's inevitable issues.

Tell me about it. Somebody needs to get their shit together at Activision and stop releasing it like that. The idea of actually having DLC expansions is neat, but don't just cut stuff out of the main game to make it as shallow as possible and then sell everything else to us in pieces, that's not how you DLC good Activision. Activision, get your shit together. Get it all together. And put it in a backpack. All your shit. So it’s together. And if you gotta take it somewhere, take it somewhere, you know, take it to the shit store and sell it, or put it in a shit museum, I don’t care what you do, you just gotta get it together. Get your shit together.

  10. I'm quite a new player to the world of Destiny, in fact I've not even been part of the game for a month yet, and I already have an addiction you could call it. I max levelled my character, I'll keep grinding the POE for strange coins any day and I'm steadily beating every story mission in the game, so needless to say, I like to imagine I have a real connection to the character I created in the game, despite not being on the scene for a long time. Now, with that said, in case you haven't heard already, Bungie gave their first piece of news on what's going on with Destiny 2 coming out later this year and announced that you can carry your character's design over but not the progression you've made with it (Light, gear, consumables etc.). Now personally, I'm completely fine with this. Why? Well, I think the fact we can carry our designs over in the first place is pretty cool, though It's minor and even if we didn't we could always just recreate it with little effort. Moving onto the loss of progression, apparently a lot of people are angry about it not carrying over, and I really don't understand why. Listen, if you came into Destiny 2 with everything you own from the first game it would be ridiculously unbalanced, way too easy to do anything, there's zero challenge in that and it doesn't give first timers even chance in the crucible compared to other characters, it wouldn't work. Plus, part of the fun of Destiny is to start at the bottom and slowly build up your character to make it stronger and more efficient, and it feels really satisfying, wouldn't anyone love to do that again in a brand new sequel set in an entirely new story? I understand people spent a lot of time getting that progression and gear and they may be mad, but guess what? If you buy Destiny 2, that doesn't mean you can't keep playing Destiny one and keep using all the cool stuff you got for your character there, at least for a few years, in fact you might not even have to make the jump at all if you don't feel It's necessary, though there is the problem of wanting new experiences and how Destiny one will undeniably lose support in It's next few years and there will be no new content in development for it, while everything is in Destiny 2. So It's not like everything you worked and earned for is just gonna disappear like magic, I really don't see where the hatred is coming from here. What are your opinions on the matter? Leave your answer below.

  11. After her downward spiral after Season 4, her laughable portrayal in Season 5 and flat-out negligence in Season 6, she deserves to have her wings and title stripped from her and given to Pinkie Pie

Wow, I mean, respect for your opinion and all, but this just seems devastatingly harsh. "laughable"? "negligence"? Those are pretty big words and Twilight doesn't come close to that, she cares too much about her friends and the world she lives in to be negligent and I wouldn't call somepony who has been a successful well rounded leader of the Mane 6 throughout the entire series, save for maybe Lesson Zero and Bridle Gossip, but those were before she earned her wings anyway, has caused multiple disasters to be averted and is all in all one of the most powerful, friendly and memorable characters of the show laughable. I don't wanna start an argument so I'll cut it off here, but this here was just a little too brutal for me to ignore, sorry to you or the original poster if I end up offending you.

  12. I'm so sorry if I upset anyone reading this because I am aware it has quite a following, but I can't stand FlutterMac. The two of them barely interact with each other, have no qualities about themselves that the other mate would like, and they have practically built no chemistry together whatsoever.

  13. defeat of villains doesn't equate to friendship. Look how long she held a grudge against Discord. and again with Trixie. Look at the way she treated Fluttershy in "Hoofeilds and McColts". There's so many other examples, but those are the three that really are at the top of my head.

This is about whether she deserves to be a princess, not how she is as a friend. I was saying that because of all the feats her and her friends have accomplished together she completely deserves the title. But if we're going to talk about that, It's understandable that Twilight was like that. I don't necessarily agree with the way she treated both Discord and Trixie, if anything I support Fluttershy on the matter of Discord than the other characters, Trixie on the other hoof can be considered an annoyance some times, but she has come through for ponies like Starlight before and has shown glimmers of good qualities within her hidden inside her boasty, bragging nature. But looking from Twilight's point of view, I can accept her being mad at the Dragonequus who essentially tried to create a chaotic Equestria and reversed all the qualities that made her friends good friends, temporarily making them completely unlikable characters and has had multiple run ins and battles with Celestia and Luna in the past. As for Trixie, she kept showing off and trying to belittle Twilight, and once even got her locked out of Ponyville! I of course like to think of Trixie as simply a misguided soul, but of course the way Twilight's treated by her makes her hold a grudge because why wouldn't she?

  14. there's always a way to change it. and no, I don't think she should be a PoF. She still has too much to learn to be teaching others about it, just yet.

How does she have much to learn? Hasbro's clearly running out of ideas for lesson's by now, I think she's capable enough.

But as for my opinion on the matter, I believe she deserves it. Heck, I think all of the Mane 6 would deserve something like that considering the amount of feats they along with Twilight have accomplished. Defeating Nightmare Moon and reuniting Celestia with her sister, stopping Discord and even reforming him, defeating Queen Chrysalis TWICE, saving the Crystal Empire, sending Tirek back to Tartarus, giving up their biggest source of power in a selfless act to save Equestria from the Tree Of Harmony, freeing Starlight Glimmer's captives and reforming her, these are all big accomplishments Twilight's been involved in, and those are just the 2 part specials, what about the Ursa Minor situation for example? Also the fact that she was taught by Celestia herself, and Celestia was confident enough to know that one day she would definitely end up becoming a Princess. So I believe it goes without question, but that's just me.

  15. Hasbro payed for 10 seasons already, so no. ._.

It's been confirmed the show will continue.

OK, I don't reply to this topic often anymore, but I just wanna point out I originally made this post LONG before this was confirmed, I still feel it was up for questioning back then.

Transformers G1 tried that and got a huge backlash.

He said a new cast of main characters, not killing off the old ones.

    - You're Under Arrest

    - Ah! My Goddess!

    - The Devil Is A Part-TImer

And some others that are...well...NSFW. No, not hentai. Just don't want to list them just to be in the safe side. :D

I'm cool with NSFW stuff, but I suppose It's fine to avoid listing them in case it goes against the guidelines. Also, hold up! Devil May Cry? As in, THAT Devil May Cry? DMC has It's own anime, my life is complete.

  17. So, just to make this clear, I'm not making this post because I'm not familiar with anime, I've actually been really into it for the past few years, I don't think I'm a full blown Otaku yet, but I reckon that's gonna be a phase in my life at some point. But I only have a small selection of different anime I watch and I wanna find some more good ones, to give myself some variety and explore more of what Japanese animation has to offer. I'll put down a list of anime I already watch down below if that helps, but don't be afraid to recommend something that Isn't like those, I'm open to pretty much any kind of genre or style, as far as I know the only anime I'm steering clear of is Boku no Pico. Oh, and it doesn't have to be shows necessarily, it could be an anime movie/OVA of any kind. So knock yourselves out, maybe this'll help out other people who stumble on this thread too, who knows, but I'm looking forward to hearing your recommendations.

    STUFF I ALREADY WATCH:

    Naruto

    Attack On Titan

    Sword Art Online

    Gurren Lagann

    Pokemon

    Bakugan

    Fairy Tail

    Dragon Ball Super

  18. In that case, you just need to watch the movie to see what happens for yourself. Generation one does have flaws given that the animation quality varies from episode to episode, some voices sound different, continuity isn't its strongest suit, and some episodes are just plain awful, yet it retains that nostalgia factor.

Well, in all honesty I should probably watch anything I haven't seen of the show yet, considering what I did watch was rather confusing at times due to the fact I barely know any of the lore behind the series besides the basic concept. The DVD I had was Season 2 Volume 4 which was rather late into the series. I doubt the movie will make much sense without knowing all that stuff, when exactly is it in the timeline?

    • Brohoof 1
  19. Since generation one was what started the brand, I also suggest watching the show as well. You don't have to watch every single episode--some are best to avoid--but watch enough so that you can get an idea as to how the other iterations came into being by basing themselves off of the original. I'd watch episodes from season two more than anything.

Oh, trust me I've seen plenty of Generation One, I actually have a DVD with a bunch of episodes on there which I've owned for quite a few years now, It's easily my favourite iteration of the bunch although it has It's flaws. Plus, as crappy of some of those movie licensed games that my friend owned were, they did at least have some unlockable G1 episodes which were a really good time.
