  1. There seems to be quite a lot of them online...though I've never really tried the websites that host them. I'd link them here, but I'm not entirely sure if linking old apks of free to play apps count as piracy.

If I may ask, what are you planning to do with said apk? run it through Blue stacks?

Exactly. It's mainly for experimental purposes.

  2. Well, I suppose we should know at the upcoming  hasbro conference on their quarterly earnings on the 18th; They'll probably announce if they're coming out with another season or not there I bet. Of course, if they don't say anything about a new season when they get to the MLP section they could still have one planned, but it'll still seem pretty likely that the movie will be the end.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Well, it could mark the end of FIM, but I don't think it will end MLP. Here's why. Shows like MLP are mostly made to sell toys. I mean, it's made by Hasbro, which is a toy company. Selling toys is their ultimate goal. These type of shows don't normally go out with a big bang. It's just not in their nature. They keep going until the company decides it's not helping toy sales anymore.

A movie would generate a lot of hype and bring more attention to the franchise. From a business view, it would be a terrible move to completely stop the show there. Continuing the show would make the hype from the movie last longer, and therefore, sell more toys.

I could imagine the movie marking the end of FIM, but if that's the case, I would bet they would start up a new MLP show fairly quickly.

That DOES make sense, but it would be nice if FIM ended on a high note is all I'm saying. I won't jump to conclusions, I'm not sure whether it will end the show or not, but like you said, they could start another show if they do.

Simpsons had a movie in 2007 and that didn't mark the end.

We won't know if it will, but honestly, if Hasbro can milk MLP some more, then it will.

Well, yeah, but look at the Simpsons now. It's nowhere near as good as it used to be for most people, and It's cow is basically milked now. The same might happen to MLP if it keeps going too long I think. What I'm saying is It'd be nice for the show to last another season or two, or at least go out on a high note with the movie and just end it there. We don't want MLP to end up like The Simpsons.

  3. Yeah, I think it'd be worth watching. Seeing the different types of adventures the Mane Six would get as humans is pretty interesting. Personally, I think all the other EG films except the first one are better though I would recommend watching the first one so the sequels make sense.

So I guess that confirms it has a continuity then.

  4. MLP is a toyline first and foremost. Which means that if they did finish the cartoon, the toyline would still go on for a while longer.

Makes sense. I don't care for the toys anyway though, so it doesn't really effect me.

Because I wan't the show to end on a high note.

If the film isn't FIM's finale, than whatever is the real finale will be very underwhelming by comparison.

Plus at this point many of the original staff that worked on the show have left already.

And I don't feel like there is a lot more to do with the characters.

Twilight is a princess, Applejack had her character arc done by episode 2, Fluttershy is much more assertive and confident than she was in the beginning of the show, Rainbow Dash is a wonderbolt, Rarity has her boutique in Canterlot, and has one in Manehatten, Pinkie Pie is basically in the same place she always was, and the CMC finally have their cutie marks.

And by the time the movie will be released FIM will be 7 years old.

For a children's cartoon that is a really long time to be producing content, and I don't think the show needs any more after that.

Well said, I guess. It's gotta end at some point.

  5. "Professional" just means that they are paid for their labor. It seems that all 6 are supported by whatever their careers are.

Basically, they are in a completely different phase of life.

There is a big difference between preparing for your future life, and actually living a sustainable life.

I gather that most people are fine with this, but it drives me crazy...because it's basically regression.

I like seeing the ponies as fillies if the scene becomes a point of growth in their life, but in this alternative universe, it can't.

Yeah, I get what you mean, the age doesn't really transfer over.

Sorry about that. I forget that there are some people who have not seen the movies yet, so I have to remember that I don't want to spoil anything for them. Thanks for that.

It's OK. It's more or less my fault for not being able to catch up fast.

In all Applejack(honesty, get it) I didn't care much for them the first time through, but having seen them again. I'd say they're enjoyeble. They are after all spinnoffs, so take'em with a grain of salt, an open mind and no pre determined outcome in your head. And you're set to have fun + some of the music is actually really good (IMO).

Yeah, I guess It's something you need to go in with an open mind about to really... Get.

  6. It didn't mark the end of My Little Pony and Friends and was smack dab in the middle of the original Transformers. I don't recall if the G.I. Joe movie ended it, but I don't think so. Plus wasn't there an EQG Girls movie?

Equestria Girls Isn't canon to the series, at least that's what I hear. Plus, considering It's a spinoff, I doubt they'd end off MLP with something that different.

No, I don't think it will end. As long as it is making money, it will continue. What I care about is quality and as long as we have excellent writers who care about the show and not just the paycheck, then FiM will continue without being despised by bronies.

Yeah, I'm just thinking about the future. If the creators and writers of the show stop working on it, things might go downhill.

We've gotten Zero information about a season S7 and S6 is halfway done and about to start back up showing again.

Its very possible they're looking at the movie as an end point for the series.

Considering that Season 6 is still going through, I doubt they'd have revealed whether Season 7 was coming or not.

Not sure, but I really want it to close FiM. I still doubt it'll end G4 though, lots of green paper walking to Hasbro yo, and there's tons of spinoff material with it

One thing, what you said is sort of off. You don't want G4 to end, yet you want FIM to end. FIM is G4. It just doesn't make sense to me. And why do we want FIM to end anyway? It's a great series as far as I'm concerned. Without it most of us wouldn't be here.

  7. The fact that you started out uncertain, rather than excited makes me think that maybe you should just give them a pass.

I've seen all three, and don't consider them required viewing for pony fans.  They don't add a lot besides a few good songs, most of which are in the first movie, and some cute brony in-jokes.

The whole idea of taking these independent professionals and transplanting them into high school students feels kinda lame.

If you are dying for more pony stuff while waiting, buy some of the comic books.

Yeah, the biggest barrier to entry for me is also the awful humanized style.

they were decent overall, I can't really recommend them. I was disgusted with the mere idea of humanizing MLP characters and the result looks horrible imo. Nonetheless, I managed to watch all 3 movies and they weren't that bad, drawing style aside...

I wouldn't really call the ponies professionals rather than just friends with special talents, but I get where you're coming from. Taking adults and putting them in a high school environment can come off a little weird. I am up for new things though, who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, or severely let down.

To be entirely honest with you all ~ if not the first Equestria Girls Movie, then most likely I'd wouldn't be where I am now.

All the pony curiosity grown up because of that movie.

The very first Equestria Girls movie was and still is the best one in my opinion. I was literally watching this and Rainbow Rocks once/twice a day for more than a week (10+times each in total in less than a month) and I'd still gladly watch them again. I really loved these movies, because they have a value for me, since they started everything, not mentioning enjoyable and catchy songs and such.

In my opinion, these movies are getting worse ~ The first one I absolutely love, the second one I also love, though the third one has tons of plot holes and boring things, that made that movie just weird and irrational. It performed worse music-wise as well. Cafeteria Song FTW!

I love Equestia Girls as much as 'normal' MLP and I'm happily awaiting the 4th Equestria Girls Movie.  :pinkie:

So my answer is: Watch them!! =3 You don't have anything to lose anyway. Opinions are different, some ponies like this, some ponies that, so you'll never receive an accurate answer. You just need to try it yourself!  ^_^

By the way, to this day I don't get the hate these movies are receiving ~ the drawing style is cute and everything looks great, there's nothing I could complain about.

Watching these movies would bring back some memories...

Sounds appealing. If this spin off can have as much of a pull and thrill to it as the show itself then I see no harm in taking a spoonful of medicine.

I would say give it a shot. I know that I loved all the EG movies to bits and I still do. I have watched every single movie at least 4-5 times a year.

You won't really know unless you yourself watch it. You yourself are the best judge in what you yourself enjoy ;)

Yeah, I guess It's a love it or hate it kinda thing.

I'm surprised you've been able to avoid seeing all 3 movies up until now. While the majority of folks prefer the original FIM series, I have a soft spot for the EQG series. Sure my suspension of disbelief is tested greatly, and there are plot-holes up the wazoo, but at the end of the day, i'm not expecting an Oscar-worthy masterpiece.

I say give them all a shot and form your own opinion. I may not go back and watch the films as often as I do the TV series, but I definitely listen to the music though. The soundtracks are absolutely amazing  >_>

Able to avoid? Well, that's a long story. I was sort of forced to leave the franchise a while back, and I've only just joined back recently. Basically, I came back last week and I hadn't gotten involved with MLP since Season 4 was still airing. Plot holes are things to expect here, obviously there's no excuse for them, but if they're minuscule enough, they won't be a problem

I was kinda not that excited for the first movie when it was originally coming out, but I was willing to give it a chance anyway, I thought it was decently alright. Then Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games came out and I completely adored them both, and I've even gone back and watched the original a few times and it's grown on me.

They aren't "Masterpieces" and are pretty flawed movies in general, but there's so much I've come to enjoy about them I don't really care that much. I love the songs, I actually have come to like the humanized designs quite a bit, I love Sunset as a character, there's some good jokes, etc. I liked them enough I bought the DVD's.

I'd say to anyone who's even a bit curious...Give them a shot, you might like them. If not, oh well. They have no effects on the main story of MLP, so you can just ignore them.

So here again, it looks like the sequels are being held in high regard. But as long as the first movie is at least decent, It's fine by me. If I can get ANY enjoyment from a series, then I consider it worth my time.

The Equestria Girls movies are very good, and thanks to them, I have made Sunset Shimmer one of my favorite character alongside the Mane Six and several others, especially after seeing Sunset in her Daydream Shimmer form. So very awesome and amazing!!

2 things, one, thanks for the opinion, it seems there are people who like the full series as a whole rather than just certain ones. Two, please refrain from any spoilers. I understand if you can't help it, but the more you talk about it the more I wanna search stuff up, and that'll just ruin it for me. No offence.

  8. I don't know yet, but I do know that I want it to be the end of FIM.

Really? Interesting opinion. How come you want it to be over?

I hope it's not the end.  But I have a feeling it is.

Only time will tell I guess.

I don't know. It feels more like it could mark the end of FIM than will. Given the possibility of a seventh season on the horizon before the film, I'm unsure what will happen. But will it end G4 (e.g., the FIM toyline, comics) as a whole? I don't think so.

Well, I guess It's a possibility, but FIM will end eventually, there's no denying it. As long as we can squeeze in one more season, and the movie turns out good, I'll be happy. I don't mind if they don't, but hey, 7's a lucky number to end on right?

I don't know. Movies never marked the end of Hasbro's generations before.

First time for everything I know, but it's not usually their tradition to do so.

FiM will end when it's good and ready.

MLP: FIM is the only Hasbro franchise/generation I'm really into, so I'm not familiar with anything before them. I don't mind if it does end soon, as long as it ends on a good note.

  9. OK, so having just found out about the movie last night, I started thinking a bit. It's kind of odd that after so many years of sticking with the TV Series, you'd have expected something like this to have been made sooner. But why only now, after a full 6 Seasons and a Spin Off movie series, an IOS and Android game, tons of merchandise etc., did they decide to make a movie out of it? My theory is that they wanted to make the movie from the beginning, planning to use it as the grand finale of G4 when It's decided that the franchise has run It's course. What do you guys think?

  10. I would definitely give it a shot. The animation, story and characters improve with each movie, and it's safe to assume it will never effect the show, since the writers have said the movies are not cannon within the show. There's nothing to lose.

Sweet. Sounds good to me. I'd actually prefer if they were canon though.

Idk, they were decent overall, I can't really recommend them. I was disgusted with the mere idea of humanizing MLP characters and the result looks horrible imo. Nonetheless, I managed to watch all 3 movies and they weren't that bad, drawing style aside...

I don't really mind the human designs of the characters, besides that's supposed to be the movie's whole shtick, so if you don't like those you don't like the movie I guess.

The first movie mostly sucks, but it's kind of necessary to sit through it to get to Rainbow Rocks, which I love to bits. If, after watching those two, you think that particular trade-off was worth it, then go on to Friendship Games. I didn't think that one was as good as RR, but I think you'll get a different answer from anyone you ask...  :o

Sounds interesting. Believe it or not the other comments aren't that different. Most people seem to be mostly in favour of Rainbow Rocks.

I would say that the movie franchise is worth watching.

The character interactions that I enjoy from the show are present in the movies and I find them to make for a fun hour to kill.

Gotta love the dynamic between the characters in this show, if that's still there then it should be interesting at the least.

It's well worth it. I'm so glad that I gave it a chance, and I absolutely adore Rainbow Rocks and have watched it about 6 times in the past year.

6 times? Wow, you've got to love that one. I mean, a lot of answers have already called out Rainbow Rocks as the best one, but this is a whole new level.

  11. But they haven't changed the promos all that much in between movies. And the toys are downright hideous. xD They almost rival the Bratz dolls. My daughter likes the movie, but not the toys.

Like I said, the movies are something else. Just not for me. I do hope you like them, tho. I would hate for you to go through them and end up not liking them.

Oh, I don't blame ya there. I can't even stand the toys for the show, let alone the EG ones. Bratz is still worse though. But, thanks, I guess I'll just have to see what I think.

    • Brohoof 1
  12. Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as 'sexist', but it's still not the best idea.

And I'm not talking about the movies themselves, but the promos and everything that they had before the first movie came out, as well as the toys.

Well, yeah, but if you're going by that logic the original shows promos do that too sometimes. I don't think the promotional material directly affects a TV show or movie.

  13. It's not that the clothing was added, it's that it's very stereotypical for girls to only wear skirts, especially in a school that doesn't have a set uniform and has a wide variety of female characters. Plus, if you look at promotional material for Equestria girls, the material shows some of the cast very VERY out of character. For a show that was meant to encourage girls to be anything they wanted, they didn't really set the bar that high.

In my opinion, it's a bad spinoff. They COULD'VE done well with it, but they decided to stick to a merchandise mindset and in my opinion, it was the wrong way to go.

    My opinion.

True, I guess if you put it that way it sounds kinda... Sexist? Nah, I wouldn't go that far, but still, what exactly they're wearing doesn't bother me, it gets the job done it seems. As for the out of character stuff, I'll probably need to watch first to get an opinion on that.

    • Brohoof 1
  14. The first Equestria Girls is alright, it's not great. But each movie progressively got better in my opinion. I think it's worth watching it.

Sounds good. Usually most movie series I watch get worse with every sequel but not here I guess.

You might as well. I personally enjoyed the movie, so for all we know you might as well. Not to mention, if you don't watch you won't really get to know Sunset Shimmer, who a lot of people seem to like. It can't hurt to give it a try.

Sunset Shimmer seems interesting, though they don't reveal much on her in the trailers. I guess it wouldn't hurt to watch.

I watched them, they weren't AMAZINGLY GREAT imo, but they were pretty good. I liked Rainbow Rocks and Friendship Games the most!

Oh trust me I'm not expecting a masterpiece or anything. I know to set the bar at a reasonable level. The common thoughts are that it's getting better with each sequel, so that's nice.

Yeah I'd say it is. Not a perfect movie but not the worst thing in the world either, though the next two movies are much better.

Oh and the Cafeteria Song scene is still pretty hype, movie is definitely worth it for at least that. :D

I think we can all agree the cafeteria song is awesome.

You won't know until you check it out. I personally can't stand it.

For me, the idea that every girl wears a skirt (except like, one), that they pulled in so many cliches to fill the gaps and how cheesy some of the 'problems' the heroes have to face... it's not for me.

Just like the normal show, it was made to sell toys.

Well, honestly I don't see how having clothing added is really a,problem. I doubt anyone would want them running around naked. My Little Pony, as good as it is, can be really cheesy at times so I'm prepared for that, I'm used to it. Though, I guess the sad fact is what you say is true, this whole franchise was just to sell toys.

    • Brohoof 2
  15. Why not just watch it ? If it's not worth it, you can always stop. If you can't, that's because it is worth it. Practical, isn't it ? :P

True, I suppose it just takes some initiative. Thanks.

If you're interested then there's no harm in giving them a chance. Personally I preferred Friendship Games and Rainbow Rocks over the first one. Rainbow Rocks in particular is considered the best and for the most part seems well regarded in the fandom

    Interesting. Thanks for the help.

Trust me, you're better off watching Big Hero 6 for the nth time while waiting for the epic 2017 Pony movie. Great characters and a final battle with more action than the entire first Equestria Girls movie.

There's gonna be 4th movie? Jeez, how far are they gonna go with this? And I always considered MLP more comedy than action basee, but I get your point.

  16. So believe it or not, I've never actually watched Equestria Girls (Well, OK, I watched the first one, but I barely remember anything about it as I've only seen it once and I've seen so much other stuff since I've sort of forgotten it.). But the point is, I wanna know if it and it's sequels are actually any good and if I should watch them. Looking at the trailers I honestly don't know what to think of it. Seriously, I'm not sure how to respond to the idea, it just seems so... Weird. Of course this is entirely subjective but I want other people's opinions to get a general idea of what people think. Oh, and no spoilers please. Thanks.

  17. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony: Rainbow Dash

How did you find MLP Forums?: Well, to be honest, I kinda just looked up MLP Forums and came across this place.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: I'll admit, once before I became one I used to think the brony community was kinda weird. I decided to watch the first 2 episodes to see what it was about and actually thoroughly enjoyed it just as much as other shows I watch, when I was expecting it to be mediocre, I was pleasantly, two episodes, turned into ten, ten episodes turned into the whole first season, and that's when I knew I was a fan!

    Hi Everypony.

My name's Adam, and I've been a fan of the series for a decent amount of time, though there's something you should know. Ya see, peer pressure sort of made me leave the fanbase a while back, as I was afraid of people laughing at me for liking MLP. Eventually, someone did find out and wanting to save face, I reluctantly left. Now I've decided to come back in the hopes my friends forgot about the whole fiasco and get back to enjoying what I want to. Things have probably changed a lot, since I've not watched any new episodes since the Season 4 premiere. I don't have an OC or anything like that, but I hope to make one in the future. As for why I'm here? Well, I've never tried a forum for a franchise before and I figured I'd give it a shot, as the start of my return to the fanbase. I'm hoping to meet cool new people here, and just talk about the show in general with them. I also love roleplay, so when I heard this place had it I jumped at the opportunity. Thanks for reading up, I'm glad to be here!
