  1. Oh they care about their products for sure, but the bottom line is money and they won't care about a few butt hurt fans

A few? I know a good amount of people who played the original game on Vita, It's not like this is a small audience. A lot of angry people together can make a difference. Remember when the Xbox One was gonna be an always online console? The backlash Microsoft got from fans caused them to change it.

  2. No idea what it is so don't care, but for whatever reason they did it is up to them, be it money saving or ditching the other platform, companies couldn't care less about the feelings of fans , they are here to make money

You say that like companies are just robotic corporate suits who don't put any passion into the work they do, which I can't really agree with. Making video games is about more than making money, It's about making art, and getting a group of people together to talk about and support that art. Besides, if we're gonna assume money is all they care about, it makes more sense to release a game on more than one consoles, because logically, you'll get more sales of a multiplatform game than a game that's exclusive to one console.

  3. Unfortunately Sony has more or less given up on the Vita entirely, the only people supporting it now are niche Japanese devs whereas Sony has decided to completely ignore it. I don't know how well the PS4 version of Gravity Rush did, but as it stands it makes more sense to make the sequel exclusive to PS4

Just because Sony's given up on the Vita, that doesn't make it right to alienate half your fanbase.

  4. The Vita is more or less dead at this point, but a ton of people loved Gravity Rush enough for Sony to make a sequel. Putting it on the PS4(as well as remastering the original for it) makes complete sense

It's not the fact that It's on PS4 itself that's a problem, It's the fact that they didn't have a Vita version when they easily could port it over no problem, at the cost of a slight graphics downgrade. I don't think the Vita's dead, It's just not being used to It's full potential. A Gravity Rush sequel makes sense to have, it would make more people want a Vita. The PS4 is already a success, do we really need any more exclusives to it, when the Vita hasn't got much noteworthy on it and tanked in sales. the Vita needs more games on it, it has such a small line-up it makes the Wii U line-up look like Steam. However I will say that part of It's failure is probably due to the 3DS, which in my opinion is a much better system, and Sony can't really help that side of things.

  5. So recently I played Gravity Rush on the PS Vita. It's an amazing game with a colourful cast of characters, interesting and innovative game mechanics, and I think It's a hidden gem on the PS Vita. Or it would be if it didn't get a PS4 port later on, this is when things started to go wrong. It's fine that It's on PS4, no harm done, let's the home console players get a chance to replay the game on a more advanced system with improved graphics, It's not like it makes the handheld version terrible. But back to the point, I had to wonder, is Sony ever going to properly revisit this game with a proper sequel? After doing some research, I found out they were! But, you see, I'm more of an Xbox player when it comes to home consoles, always have been, though I also collect Nintendo consoles, my main platform of choice is Xbox. So when I found out Gravity Rush was going to be on the PS4, at first I was cool with it. "Well, the remaster seemed to impress people, It's only natural they'd want the sequel to have a PS4 port too... Wait, what's that? It's NOT a port? You mean there won't be a Vita version? As in, Sony are completely neglecting the crowd of Vita owners who don't also own a PS4, despite the fact that the Vita was the console the first game was on originally? *FACEPALM*

So PS4 owners get the first game remastered, yet we aren't getting the second game because... Well, they didn't really give a reason... Well, shit. Way to alienate a large portion of your game's fan base guys, god I would have loved to be in the board meeting where they made that decision! I'm not completely mad I guess, just a little bitter. Now I know how Bayonetta fans felt when they were unable to get Bayonetta 2 because they didn't own a Wii U... Sheesh. I know I'm a little late talking about this, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in, It's been on my mind a lot recently and I don't have anything better to do. So what are your thoughts? Do you think the game only being on PS4 is justified, or do you think that people with the Vita only should have the right to play it like everyone else? Because just a side note, not everyone's gonna run out and get a PS4 just for one game, it just doesn't happen that often.

  6. The console comes out next March and they only revealed the first bits of information a couple of weeks ago with nothing more becoming known until January. If Nintendo want to give the Switch plenty of hype, they needed to have revealed the first information a lot sooner than they did. Still, if they bombard fans with enough information in the first quarter of 2017, that should hopefully be enough.

As for the competition, Sony and Microsoft don't really need to bring out new consoles which is why they're going with upgrades to their current ones. They might change their position if the Switch proves successful. Right now, Nintendo isn't in the best position--even though they have lots of money--so they had no choice but to move onto the Switch and effectively abandon the Wii U.

To be honest, I think keeping fans on the edge for a while was a good move, because until the reveal there was tons of discussion and news reports trying to imagine what Nintendo's next console will be, it was an exciting thing to think about, and still is. It's basically word of mouth, which is free marketing before the console was even revealed.

Actually, Sony and Microsoft ARE bringing out new consoles, It's just they're sticking with upgrading old consoles until It's ready. Have we forgotten about the Xbox Scorpio? Upgrading your old console is something you'll wanna do before releasing the next console so that they can still get more console sale money in the meantime while they work on their next consoles. However, I do see a lack of need for console generations in the future, they're saying the power of the components to the Xbox Scorpio will eliminate the need to even have generations anymore, and I bet Sony will follow suit with the PS5 or whatever they make next. Granted I'll miss having console generations, but I see it as something to look forward to, and I think Nintendo will continue to go the old route.

  7. I think Nintendo want the third party developers to advertise their own games for the switch rather than them doing it since they'll have their own games to focus on. Right now, nothing is stopping third parties from making any announcements or providing updates to what may have been shown. Getting them on board is one thing but keeping them on board is another.

It'll take time for them to reveal them though, I have a feeling they'll wait until more information about the console is out there for consumers next year.

Competition is healthy, I don't mind that some games are on Origin and Uplay only, it's not like I have to spend $400 to download Origin. They aren't close to Steam's level, they never will be, but it's whatever.

Although, I hate BF3/BF4/BFH's server browser. They are changing it, which is good, but I just never wanted to play Battlefield because of it.

The only one I have a genuine problem with is the Windows 10 Store. I have a few games downloaded from there, but I will NEVER purchase a game from them. I've got Halo 5, Forza 6, Forza Horizon 3 Demo, and MC: Story Mode's first 6 episodes were free for a limited time on there. but again, will never purchase from them. Already feel like I paid too much lol

So what happened with the Windows 10 Store? Because that's kind of disappointing if so, I kind of like the idea of buying a game once and being able to play it on multiple platforms. As someone who's been waiting for Xbox to do something similar to Sony's cross-play system, that sounded kinda neat.

  8. Well, you see, I have a second generation Intel Core i5, GTX 1060, and over 100 games that work totally fine, even at 4K. This, however, does include emulation, Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc.

I don't own a VR headset, I don't want a VR headset, and I especially don't need one. Nobody needs one. I'm sure I could run VR games, however.

Also, I got all my parts on Newegg besides my processor, but switching it from an 2nd gen i5 to an x4 860k would be almost the same. I've used one with this card, I know. It's not that different.

And I don't think Origin is bad, nor Uplay. What's so bad about em? Although, I'll admit, the new Origin design is pretty, well, strange.

What features could that offer? Like, a OneDrive subscription? or something? That's cool and all, but I don't wanna be forced into it. If I want a Cloud service, I will purchase one. but I don't want one. I don't care to have one. and by the looks of it, you don't want it either.

Well, maybe I've been a little harsh. It's not that the core idea and structure of Uplay and Origin is bad, It's just Steam does it so much better they look bad. I'm also kind of sick of the companies shoving Uplay and Origin systems into all of their games, even on consoles. It's optional, but you can still tell they desperately want people to know about it, it all seems like a popularity contest.

  9. Indeed. You know much money I spent on a PC that could play The Sims 3 plus all Expansion Packs at their best with the most minimum of parts to do so? Over $1000. I wasn't buying a factory-made PC, because a factory-made PC with those specs would cost over twice that. I had the help of other people to figure out the cheapest prices for what I needed, and it still came up to over a thousand... For a The Sims game, which are far from the most intensive PC games.

And then the game still has issues running after I spent a fortune. At least I know when I buy a console, the games are made for that console as it is, and will run the way they're supposed to (unless the developers screwed up, hardly seen that ever be a thing of any consequence, really). I never have to think "A better video card/processor/etc. could have run this game properly (when I've already spent waayyyy too much money)". PC gaming is a big headache to me. Even if you do have the right parts for one game, another game will come out and you'll have to think of upgrading again. Ouch. I'm so glad that I'm only interested in The Sims, and that The Sims 4 is a bad game so I don't even have to worry about being sucked into it and all of the money-making schemes that EA have come up with.

Speaking of which... the PC format... It is exceptionally suited to money-gouging. Correct me if I'm wrong, but to my knowledge the PC is where Expansion Packs and DLC really started, or at least took off. EA got horribly greedy with The Sims, especially in The Sims 3 and the PC format with the allowance for Expansion Packs, other packs, and a DLC store (a concept which hadn't really seen much use in the console world yet).

Of course, now we have money-gouging on all formats - PC, consoles, mobile. But the one that did it first? The one that laid down that foundation... I do remember it being the PC.

Now I'm not putting down the PC as a whole. As I've said before it is the very best format for The Sims. The custom content and modding is great. With consoles modding is frowned up by the developers and much, much, much harder to implement, with the chance of it bricking your console (and with that, the amount of custom content and modding is very small on consoles, and the quality thereof is oftentimes lacking from lack of experience or talented creators). This is the one place that the PC excels for me, and it makes The Sims great.

Boy would I love to have the custom content and modding of the PC The Sims in a game like Animal Crossing.

I'm just saying... The PC isn't the perfect system. It has done good, and it has done bad. Just like every other platform.

Well, to be honest, we've come to expect that kind of shoddy work from EA nowadays anyway. It's not like I'll never buy another one of their games again, I really loved Titanfall, but I think it's safe to say that they care more about the money in their pockets rather than the actual consumer, as any company plagued with greed do. It's not surprising they had a hand in starting one of the most greedy and blunt ideas in gaming, and while I'm not sure of the details, whether EA actually developed the game or if they just published it, I'm willing to bet either way that they did a hack of a job on it and left in any PC issues you might have possible even with the best gear, or they got whoever made it for them to rush it out the door too early.

Unless you want fucking 8K resolution, it won't. My $450 PC runs fine. In fact, it can do GTA V @ 4K High Settings 60fps.

and yes, most people would not spend 8k on a PC. Even a gaming PC. I don't really know.. anybody that would do that to be honest. Maybe game devs...? Maybe..???

That's not Valve's fault. It's the people who make the games. DLC exists mostly because of fanboyism and such.

Also, there's no free games. You're paying monthly/yearly for them. Plus, Origin & Uplay offer free monthly games anyways. Got FC3: Blood Dragon from Uplay this month. :orly: and Steam, GOG, etc also offer free games randomly.. even the Windows Store does it.. crazy.

and games are always cheaper on the PC, paying extra for deals that don't even come close to it isn't worth it. Also, the cloud? I'm not entirely sure what that is on consoles, is it savegames..? Because the Steam Cloud has existed.. for as long as I can remember. and you don't need to pay for it.

and yes, he is my favorite. I never knew why. I just like him. :P

Yeah, call me picky if you want, but I don't buy a system just for GTAV, there are tons of games out there that work better with different components than others, and trying to find the cards that work best for the most games is a royal pain in the ass. Plus, not to mention how the VR market is growing and becoming this big thing, so a VR headset will probably run me a little more money. I just don't think It's very convenient, and I get it, It's meant to be, since with PC gaming you're a lot more hands on than with console gaming, but I guess I have to ask, where the hell did you get a PC that can run GTAV @ 4K High Settings 60FPS for a little over 400 bucks? That game is a powerhouse to run.

Yes, but I don't think we should act like it doesn't matter.

As someone who has used all three services, the free Origin and Uplay games don't really matter when you consider how bad the actual client is. It'd be a lot better if they just put their games on Steam like everyone else.

Well, It's not that you have to pay to save games online or anything, It's just that to my knowledge having a GOLD subscription, so I guess this is just an Xbox thing or something, allows access to extra features in the cloud.

  10. Oh yeah, I support pro consumerism, how sad.

I hope it has great 3rd party support. I hope it has backwards compatibility too. If it does have 3rd party support, like really good third party support, I could see it blowing away the next generation of Xbox and PS due to it costing WAY less due to no monthly subscription for online gaming and stuff like that. It could succeed, I want it to succeed. I want it to be good. I want it to be pro-consumer.

but, I still want that mustached dude with the red cap. he cool.

I don't think PC's are pro-consumerism though, for gaming at least. It can cost you several thousands of dollars just to get a competent gaming rig, I tried to find one myself, and since I put performance before price, I want the best PC I can get because that's what you need to be sure it can run everything you throw at it well. I believe the damn thing was £8000, not many people have that kind of money lying around. That, and Steam has all the standard Season Pass and content ripped from the game to sell as DLC malarchy, pre-order culture etc.

It's unlikely there will be back compat, the system uses cartridges so the best we can hope for is rereleases or updated versions of games from the Wii U. I personally don't think monthly subscriptions are that bad, if I have to pay just for online play, I won't do that, but they throw in extra stuff to make it more worthwhile, free games, deals on games, allowing use of the cloud and tons of other benefits.

What about the one with the green cap?

  11. It's a console, I've got a PC, I have no use for it.

but, it looks alright. Usually Nintendo makes the superior consoles, but they've been lacking in 3rd party support which makes them iffy, if it has good third party support, I could see the Switch being a major success.

I didn't like the false advertising of Skyrim though. Makes me think of something Microsoft would do. Not sure if Bethesda's fault or Nintendo's.

Oh boy, we have a PC master race supporter here...

I thought the 3RD party support would be better this time too, but it seems Nintendo haven't said anything about if Skyrim will actually be on the console yet. But I remain optimistic.

  12. The ones I enjoy include Family Guy, American Dad, Archer, South Park, Rick And Morty, Bojack Horseman. They're all really enjoyable shows that each have their own unique thing to it.

One thing I also wanna mention, one awesome advantage to adult cartoons is they tend to have quite a better longevity compared to normal cartoons, most of these shows either already have a lot of Seasons or still have new seasons coming soon, or both. I really wish normal cartoons were treated with this kind of respect to spend so much time still running.

  13. I imagine that Daring Do can have some potential in her own adventure-centric show. Maybe she can reveal some of Equestria's secrets and events that our mane 6 heroes missed.

Yeah, and I still wanna know what happened in "Daring Do and the Griffon's Goblet"

Here is the team of ponies the show is going to follow

The great and powerful Trixie- Unicorn

    Starlight Glimmer - Unicorn

    Amethist Star - Unicorn

    Bulk Biceps - Pegasus

    Muffins / Derpy - Pegasus

    Berryshine - Earth

    Strong Support Characters

    Bulk Biceps

    Sweetie Drops and Lyra

    Minuette

    Pon3

    Octavia

Sounds like a solid line up.

The one pony I would like to see get a spin-off of her own would be Pinkie Pie, especially if she were a bit more like Bugs Bunny.

The shorts would involve Pinkie Pie ether enjoying herself, throwing parties for others or helping out her friends.  But some jerk decides to ruin it for Pinkie, causing her to go into a Karmic Trickster mode(Like she did during "Griffin the Brush Off," "Putting Your Hoof Down," and "28 Pranks Later."  Unlike Bugs, she would be toned down to make sure she isn't a Jerk.

Of course, besides all new foes that she'll take on, her usual batch of villains that she would go up against would include.....

    The Flim Flam Brothers

    Iron Will

    Dr. Caballeron

    Ahuizotl

    Zesty Gourmand

    The Mane-Iac

    Queen Chrysalis

    The Diamond Dogs

    Svengallop

    King Sombra

    Gladmane

    Garble the Dragon

    Pony Abacus Cinch

    Suri Polomare

The Dazzlings(Adaigo Dazzle, Sonata Dusk and Aria Blaze, now as Ponies)

    Hoops, Dumb-Bell and Score

    Wind Rider

    Prince Blueblood

    And of course: Lord Tirek

To make things even more interesting, throw in Starscream and/or Megatron from the Transformers franchise to really give Pinkie Pie something worth fighting against(With Steve Blum back as Starscream and Frank Welker back as Megatron).

That sounds pretty good, I don't see a Transformers crossover happening but thinking about a fight like that is hilarious.

Dude cutie mark crusaders..like even show em older and all the help they could bring others. Have the mane six show up every now and then but mainly as background. And have some actual back ground ponies get some more show time.

Except the ones who can't speak...

I would like to see how the Wonderbolts do stuff back in Cloudsdale since we don't often see what they actually do over there. I would like to see what Spitfire is really like away from the camera, maybe even make it like a documentary style show.

I would also like to see Marble Pie get an episode.

Oh I think Newbie Dash and Rainbow Falls already clearly showed us what the Wonderbolts are REALLY like.

    • Brohoof 1
  14. Zephyr Breeze is definitely one of the ponies I like least, but the award for worst pony easily goes to Flurry Heart for me. She's unnecessary, the episode focusing on her would have been much better without her presence, and I've always hated characters everyone bends over backwards for because they're babies despite all the shit they keep causing. I give Pound and Pumpkin Cake a pass here because their episode was actually about the difficulty of caring for babies and because I think they're cute.

It seems a little harsh to judge somepony's character if they can't even speak yet, but hey.

FIENDship #1 and IDW #37 say otherwise.

We don't know if the comics are canon.

  15. As far as cartoons outside the scope of My Little Pony or Transformers are concerned, probably.

I think this fuse may have been burning for at least fifteen years, I could be wrong. I saw a little bit of this Disney cartoon called Team Supreme, and it was a load of rubbish. Of course with modern stuff like Gravity Falls and Stephen Universe, I've been too busy in college to pay attention to those shows over the years.

Well, if you ever get a chance, take a look at Gravity Falls and Steven Universe, they're really excellent shows.

  16. I've partially changed my mind about this because I've realized there's a plenty amount of shows I'm following now: MLP, Miraculous Ladybug, Star VS, Voltron and Milo Murphy. However I think it's opportune to precisize something: it's REALLY unprobable that Star is gonna go onward its S3, since Disney usually trends to end its show after that amount of seasons, Milo Murphy might be at risk of cancellation already because its first episodes' rating have been DISASTROUS, and of course like I've pointed a lot of times, I'll gonna quit MLP after its Movie the next year... so probably Voltron and Ladybug are going to be the onky shows I'm gonna watch beyond the 2017.... and right now the only upcoming show I'm interested in it is the Big Hero 6 show... so I might have a lot to watch now, but in a year I might not have almost anything to watch anymore, so it's better I enjoy what I have now, instead of thinking about what I won't have then...

One thing I want to mention, if I recall correctly the last big Disney cartoon receiving a lot of praise was Gravity Falls, and Disney didn't just cancel that show on a whim, the actual reason for cancellation after Season 2 was it was the creator's wish. Not much related, but my point is shows aren't always axed because of the companies themselves. You're quitting MLP next year? Well, I can respect that, but... Why?

  17. *While moving backwards Rarity accidentally bumps into Spike.*

Rarity: Sorry, about that Spike I didn't know you were there.

Spike: Best three seconds of my life.

Rarity: So how does it look?

    Applejack: It looks skimpy.

    Rainbow Dash: And trashy.

    Rarity: Good.

Celestia: Dear Twilight Sparkle. I am sending back the many letters you sent me because they all have misspellings and grammar errors. Your advancement in my school has caused you to miss basic fundamentals of writing, so I will require you to retake several courses. Sincerely Celestia.

I could actually see the first one happening, I don't really see what's so bad about an accidental bump.

  18. Nah, I don't keep records of other people's legal stuff, just in case. I don't want it to get mixed up into any legal records I have for my own stuff. Years and years ago when I applied for my first work visa (TN type) for America things went sideways for awhile because my soon-to-be-not-roomate had thrown in her arrest record into the file of work references I had brought to the border... so I don't keep that kind of stuff around any more. If people ask me to look at legal stuff, I look at it, give my uneducated opinion, and then get rid of it. :)

Oh, yeah that's understandable. I still stand on the grounds that I don't think C&D's should exist.

  19. It's too early to say that now. It feels that way because a lot of pioneers of this decade are ending or have ended (Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Gravity Falls). There will always be good and bad cartoons in every decade. Hell, even the fairly lackluster 2000s had some diamonds like Avatar and Phineas and Ferb.

As for Cartoon Network? Well, I won't call it doomed, rather, it's future is in limbo. Most of their shows are entering their final seasons, and very little has been said about future shows. There's still time for them to pull surprises, but it does paint a questionable future for them. Well see what they bring next year when OK KO, Twelve Forever, and Infinity Train get greenlit (the former two of which are basically garuenteed, while the latter is still up in the air). So no, I don't think we're entering another Dark Age, especially since Mighty Magiswords and Milo Murphy's Law just premired.

I suppose we do need to wait and see.

  20. Of course, Hasbro want to spread ponies around the world  :twi: If the film distributors care, i will buy the ticket and popcorn, i dont care what people think about me  :P , but i prepare for the worst  :o

SAY NO TO DUB  in any form of media.  The original voice actors are all talent people, dont waste their products. Subtitles are your friends.

    Thanks, Omega.  :sunny:

No problem. The whole world must remember...

You wouldn't be alone in that camp although that's what happens when you live in a world where big corporations are able to get away with doing so much compared to regular people.

The bigger the distribution, the more money that ends up in Hasbro's pockets.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder who the hell decides to put all the greedy people in those jobs...

Actually... no. It's a weird thing, but is surprisingly common for corporations like Hasbro. They actually pay another company to do their lawyering, which is why the C&D letters can be confusing as heck as they're not technically from Hasbro and are never on Hasbro letterhead (if physical). They're from whatever legal firm Hasbro has retained at the moment. Plus several of the letters I've seen weren't even from them, but were from legal firms retained by the companies who have (or had) the MLP license for specific things. Shout Factory, Gameloft, Discovery, and so on. It's a bit of a mess.

You've had Cease & Desist letters before?

    • Brohoof 1
  21. What I mean is that Hasbro's higher-ups, like Stephen Davis for example, don't deal with the cease and desist issues that the company have to deal with. It's up to their lawyers to handle that and the fandom have quite a testy relationship with them. They're all part of the same company yes, yet this one division deals with the more... troublesome issues.

Of course MLP is popular with Americans since the show originated in the U.S. with Canada providing the animation and voice recordings.

Am I the only one who thinks Cease and Desist shouldn't even be a thing?
