I've been very guilty of this. Still have a fanfic project that was planned out almost completely but procrastination combined with schoolwork got in the way and now it has been over a year since I last touched it. I even started writing some original fiction but that fanfic was kind of abandoned... I should try and find the time to write before G4 ends.

I don't feel comfortable with elaborating but I've been there, several years ago. It was the only time I've ever been admitted to a hospital, though I've had a couple of trips to the ER.

As a psychology student and aspiring mental health professional, it is my hope that one day I can do my part to help folks who've experienced what I've experienced...

Yesterday as a promotional deal we basically gave this stuff away to anyone who brought in foreign coins. Clever idea but it slowed everything down because we'd have to get a manager to ring up the promo deal every time.

I want to try the stroopwafel McFlurry so badly...I get so jealous every time I make one for somebody.

Good grief, I'm not taking a break from the forums but that doesn't mean I'm not constantly rolling my eyes at the political debate here. The climate of threads about the S8 premiere has become reminiscent of the Debate Pit. Frustrating! I wish mods would step in, because there's a place for those kinds of arguments and it's not the Show Discussion section. It's fine to bring up themes and theories--in fact, I love that in principle--but there's a fine line between respectful discourse and nastiness. And this isn't even the only instance of that... I think it started a few months ago when one of the MLP kids books depicted Scootaloo's parents as a same-sex couple.

So I don't blame you one bit, @Mesme Rize. Take care!

Aww. I think you're incredibly nice and you have no need to change. And no, it's not egotistic to have those kinds of doubts... I've dealt with them for a while. Always been at least a bit socially awkward, but I've changed over time.

My self-esteem hit rock bottom for the first couple years of high school (you're in 8th or 9th grade, right?) and it was awful. It took friendship to help me climb out of that hole and get more social.

But know that no matter what, you've got people here who think you're pretty cool. You seem well-liked and appreciated. ^^ And if you need anything, I've got your back, alright?

Which is something I probably should have added. Mainstream news tells people what they want to hear more than what they need to hear in order to make fair judgments. Many people still can't wrap their minds around the very concept of bronies. The media can very well capitalize on that perception if it wants readership and/or viewership.

Part of me wonders if the trend started because of the common fan abbreviation for Equestria Daily, EQD.

It was hard to read this without getting all teary-eyed. It hit closer to home than I would normally like to admit.

I took a brief hiatus from the forums in late November and never really elaborated on why. I think in my status update I just said there was a family issue that came up. Nothing too specific.

Turns out, I almost lost my younger brother to suicide twice in November. I tried to cover it up. Tried to put on lots of fake smiles, both here and in real life. Tried to smile and wave when in fact I was feeling the worst pain I had felt. I was beginning to break under the surface. Didn't have a clue about what the future would hold. I had some of the worst anxiety attacks of my life, after about a year and a half of being very much anxiety-free thanks to a combination of therapy and medication. It was difficult being away at college, knowing that all hell could break lose at home at any moment. Things have improved. My brother had multiple hospital stays and his condition has now improved to the point where he can finally attend school again.

@Jeric, your strength through your own trials is inspiring. Wish I could be that courageous.

I found Snoke underwhelming compared to his portrayal in The Force Awakens, and the Storm King was funny but not all that interesting.

The Pony of Shadows was cool, though. Stygian is kind of a Kylo Ren sort of figure, now that I think about it.  Both characters had a similar fall from grace, in which the darkness (represented by Snoke in Ben Solo's case) called out to them and before long, they were consumed. Stygian was a heroic ally of the Pillars who turned evil, while Ben Solo was part of a new generation of Jedi.

I'm glad you at least sort of enjoyed it. I still haven't been to my city's ComicCon, though friends have gotten me souvenirs a couple times.

I think I would rather attend a fandom-specific con but whatevs. One of these years I'll go if I'm not terribly busy.

Right now I'm probably at a 5. :/ But I guess I can't complain because there was a time a few years ago when I frequently plummeted to a 1.

This looks really cool.  It reminds me of a similar thing I did in my spare time back in middle and high school to try to link the worlds of Nintendo into one single universe, with a detailed chronology over thousands of years and numerous original characters to fill in gaps, plus extensive headcanon backstories.

My guy last year was Gary Johnson; the crazy election turned me into a libertarian. But I heard he wouldn't run again in 2020 so I'm really not sure who I'm going to support... maybe Austin Petersen, a fairly well known guy in the libertarian community who lost his party's nomination to Johnson last year. But then again, Petersen might not run.
