  1. Barney Gumble from The Simpsons Who is this?
  2. There doesn't seem to be much of a resurgence in popularity so far, at least anything comparable to the way G4 became in its first couple seasons. I suppose it's not impossible that putting G5 on Netflix won't result in a comparable explosion of popularity. But the movie hasn't exactly created a full new wave of bronies. Like, people watch it, but the vibes from fans aren't at all comparable. The fan content isn't so prevalent. You used to see G4 stuff all over the internet, and that isn't really happening now. But time will tell. The show will provide more meme-worthy moments, new characters, stuff that could get people talking like they used to. Could be that the G5 fandom a year from now includes a lot of people who don't care about G4 much at all. In which case it wouldn't be so much of a revived fandom as a new fandom.
  3. Favorite? Either part of A Canterlot Wedding. Textbook Disney vibes, a grandiose song alternating between Chrysalis' and Cadance's perspectives, an interesting new villain... Least favorite? The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well. Almost everypony is out of character, apart from Rainbow Dash. They pull one elaborate stunt after another, when maybe poor RD could've gotten the point (without the hurt feelings) if her friends had just tried to have a frank conversation about pride and arrogance.
  4. Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender Who is this?
  5. A class at the School of Friendship assigns the students to work together to put on a musical for the community. The musical ends up retelling a somewhat exaggerated version of the events that transpired in the Season 1 premiere, with the Student Six being assigned roles in place of the Mane Six. Similar to Fluttershy in Filli Vanilli, Ocellus in particular has a very bad case of stage fright, but learns to overcome it and ends up being an invaluable member of the cast.
  6. Very similar to Fluttershy but somewhat lower-pitched?
  7. I think they just didn't put much thought into the lore behind alicorns, so they kept it vague and rarely did anything with her. Poor writing. It's a shame, Flurry Heart was an opportunity to explore the history and nature of alicorns but they just moved on. The G4 movie had some interesting changes as well... it was originally supposed to feature an alicorn named Cosmos, the brother of Celestia and Luna. The original concept was rewritten into both Tempest Shadow and a female non-pony character in the comics who retained the name Cosmos. Again, it was a chance to explore alicorn lore that never came to fruition.
  8. This may be the case now, but it could very well change if G5 continues for long enough. Like, G4 originally wasn't supposed to have a 4th season, but it did. And they used the 4th season's finale to reboot a G1 villain (Tirek). Give it time.
  9. Heaven. Equestria sounds nice but it's certainly not perfect. Evil still exists there. Suffering still exists there.
  10. I'm a UFO believer. I think something otherworldly has been visiting this planet for a very long time. And the universe is big enough that it seems foolish to suggest that there are no other life forms out there. There could even be something out there that isn't carbon-based, or otherwise breaks the basic rules of biology as we know them, but certainly isn't an inanimate object.
  11. Never saw one happen, but I did see the aftermath once. There was a... mess all over the hallway in the part of the school where it happened. I won't elaborate, in case anyone here is squeamish. Ironically, it happened right after lunch and one of the two guys in the fight had the same class as me after lunch. I remembered wondering why he wasn't in class, and then somebody told the teacher what happened while she was taking attendance. It was weird, that guy never struck me as the kind who would get in a fight at all. He must have really been provoked.
  12. Adaptations of some of the comic arcs, especially the arc in which Sombra returns... I think he was handled better in the comics than he ever was in the show. Even got a proper backstory. The show probably would've cut a lot out in order to fit it all into a two-part episode, but still. I would've loved to see it.
  13. She'd be mortified. Just about everything I wear is pretty casual outside of work or a special occasion. I go for comfort and practicality, no "fashion sense" whatsoever.
  14. A couple pairs, including prescription sunglasses Do you own a bicycle?
  15. Watched the second season of Overlord in a single day. Loved the second half in particular, and Sebas is now my favorite floor guardian. I love how much his character was developed. I never thought I'd find a spider adorable before I discovered that series. Watched it a couple months ago and loved it
  16. @Jerry246 I know you posted a very similar idea about Sombra earlier in your other thread, but... The two Zeroes in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Crystal Shards, respectively, are great examples of eerie eyes in a character design. Not as... extreme as the angelic beings above. But still cool-looking.
  17. I'll give it a chance. Maybe it'll be fun. Maybe it'll be thought-provoking. But I won't treat it like it's all canon lore that Tolkien came up with. Because it's not. It's going to be full of changes from established lore. An alternate universe. Even the LOTR movies included changes (my boy Tom Bombadil was nowhere to be found, elven troops showed up at Helm's Deep, various subplots were omitted or altered, most of Return of the King's ending was omitted, etc.) and the Hobbit movies included enough additions to make three movies instead of one. That's just reality.
  18. I understand the 24 hour clock just fine. Though the way actual military personnel use it is a little weird. For example, pronouncing 10:00 am (which would be written as 1000) as "ten hundred hours" sounds like it'd be weird out of context, as if you're talking about a duration of time as opposed to a specific time on the clock.
  19. Hells Bells by AC/DC "What do you mean? Do you wish me a good morning, or mean that it is a good morning whether I want it or not; or that you feel good this morning; or that it is a morning to be good on?"
  20. Sushi. Can't stand the stuff, makes me puke pretty quickly.
  21. Looks too much like Pony Life, but maybe I'll get used to the art style if other aspects of the series end up appealing to me. I'll watch some of it and see.
