    It's interesting how Sunset Shimmer was a part of "rainbow laser" battles with her group of friends

    but Starlight Glimmer wasn't included with her group of friends when they were involved in their battles*.

     

    *Unless I'm forgetting a time when Starlight did in fact help the mane 6 defeat someone.

    Also, I don't mean just being present, I mean something like this:

      @Tacodidra Spike isn't pony-ish enough so it probably wouldn't have worked anyway.
