    I think that the Elements of Harmony should have been living in different parts of Equestria with

    Twilight Sparkle spending a majority Season 1 looking for them & slowly building the team.

      They would've had a built-in lesson for the first season of Friendship is Magic:

      If I remember correctly, Lauren Faust originally intended to have a longer story arc in season 1, so maybe something close to this would have happened... :ooh:

      It could have been quite interesting, though I remember preferring the more comedic episodes when I started watching...
