      Wow. You must've been lost these past few months. 

      Well spoilers for a 6 month old movie. 

      Thanos, the big bad, beats the avengers, gathers all of the infinity stones and uses them to kill half of all life in the universe via disintegration into dust. 

      That's what's now happening in the world cup. Grogar effectively just killed everyone who isn't on a team or a former team captain.
