  1. Definitely in the top two. None of the film's songs have the power to beat "Open Up Your Eyes" from 2017 but the film overall is fresh and intelligent and fun and a terrific opening into the world of G5.
  2. I think I'd put this one as the best pony movie out there right now. All of the characters were well developed and actively avoided being simple cookie cutter arch-types that they could have easily been (bad mum 1, bad mum 2, cheating gamer, power trip pony, etc). The movie had a nice sense of humour and intelligent jokes that made fun of eye-rolling situations (Form a mob!). I vote Argyle for best parent. I mean, damn, dude really represents as the stand-up single dad. I think the best thing I like about this movie, though, is the inclusion of a boy in the mane group and the story possibilities that can be derived from that dynamic. I am really looking forward to what G5 can show us.
  3. Got stung by wasps, ants and bees over the years. Got nipped by a dog while riding my bike passed a house. Got attacked by a little kid wielding plastic power ranger weapons...
  4. Currently a baker for a supermarket, working from 3am to around 12 lunch. It's not a bad job, pays the bills with money to spare, but doesn't give me a sense of achievement. Plus the hours are starting to drive my girlfriend nuts.
  5. One of those store bought, oven bake, pizzas. I'm having regrets....
  6. I come from the Land Down Under (Australia)! Where women cry and men chunder! (not sure if those are the right lyrics but they work for me)
  7. Depends on the group of people, whether they're rowdy or not. If it's just an issue about being naked than I have no problem going nude, but if there is not enough room for me to do my laps than there really isn't any point for me to be in the pool....
  8. She does these things to feed herself and her hive which are (presumably) her children. On top of that, when she could have easily killed the ponies she had captured and replaced, she repeatedly does not (the alternate future storyline not-withstanding). And, by the end of the season finale, she has had her kingdom and children transformed and turned against her. I think she has every right to be angry right now but next we meet her she will probably be sad and depressed and possibly suicidal, with only her pride and anger at perceived injustices keeping her going. She does not deserve to die or be banished. She already has been.
  9. The bitter sweet endings of Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. It's even more bitter sweet when you actually meet that Link again in Twilight Princess to find him regretting what he missed out on.
  10. My question is "Why" do we need these questions answered? It's not like they are currently important to the plot (like when we saw the Changeling flying to the Crystal Empire at the end of the Season 6 opening). Sure, we could have a "Zecora" episode and that could answer the Zebra culture question (much like we had a Griffon episode and a Dragon episode to illustrate those cultures) but overall none of these questions need to be answered, at all.
  11. Apparently any character that is more powerful or more skilled in a certain area than the main character is considered a "Mary Sue" now. Apparently "Over Powered" means "Mary Sue" now. English.....
  12. I think I like Starlight a bit more after watching this episode. She uses her spells (eg her talents) to solve perceived problems. In this case, the problem of no one co-operating (as she perceives it) to get everything done as effectively and efficiently as possible. I imagine those that work management positions can relate a lot with her situation here and appreciate her solution. Of course, the pitfalls of working with automatons with no sense of independence are also showcased here (as are the pitfalls of working with a group of independents who are all focused on their own things). Very interesting episode.
  13. I know that they are meant to be portrayed as charlatons (and I can understand how that "Flim Flam Future" that Twilight saw would have occured) but I don't really understand the hate on Flim and Flam based solely on their introductory episode. Fact is, the Apple Family were not providing enough supply for their customers, repeatedly. In spite of promises that they would do better. As a business it should be expected that someone would come along that could do what they couldn't. How is that being "sneaky" and "under handed"?
  14. You do realise that school is not just for tertiary learning right? It also teaches how to interact in physical and social environments. A big reason why internet forums have the negative stereotypical posters (Trolls, Baiters, Hackers, Predators, etc) is because they did not learn proper social rules and interaction. You don't pick this stuff up on the internet. Do your kid a favour, they live in the physical world, let them learn in the physical world.
  15. Pokemon Ranger, no question. I have no desire for battling, I'm more of an explorer.
  16. We have drones though. Which are pretty much mini-helicopters. Well, considering what some people have done I'm pretty sure there's a reason why we can't be trusted with "privacy" any more.
  17. Little early to say that they dropped the plot. For all we know the plot might pick up again in the season finally.
  18. I feel that her parents were maybe high middle-class; just high enough socially to enable Shining and Twilight to enter their respective academies. I get the feeling that Cadence was not a princess when she was babysitting but became a princess/alicorn later on. Most of Twilight's perceived affluence probably came from her position as "Personally Chosen Apprentice of Princess Celestia"; which would afford her her own room in the castle and related respect in the palace grounds. Than, as the Royal Representative of Canterlot, she was given the library to live in and manage. Than she became a princess. How much of her wealth she personally owns is unknown. I would imagine she has a personal spending fund from Celestia as she seems to be the type to be that generous. Plus Twilight seems to be the type to value saving money (although she would probably waste it all on book buying splurges). The rest of her wealth would be "government funds" due to her status (Apprentice-Royal Representative-Princess). Due to this reason, I would say Rarity would have the largest wealth of the Mane 7 that is personally hers.
  19. A time travel storyline which send the Mane 7 1000 years into the past. It could start with Twilight starting to believe that she is the be all-end all of friendship problemsolving and such (the moral of the episode is that not everything is under your power) and the map sends them all to the past where they meet an Earth pony (possibly called "Sonny" but you don't learn his last name until the end) who is suffering under the "racial power" gap that is present in the historic land (eg Alicorn master race>Unicorn>Pegasus>Earth Pony) and is trying to make a name of himself as a hero, despite being the lowest peg on the ladder, by utilising inventions (like a horn that accesses magic, and artefacts that enable flight, etc). He sees himself as the only one capable of bridging the social gap between the races and works hard to do so. In the mean time we also see a younger Celestia and Luna, who are heroes in this time period like the Mane 6 are in their time period. While Luna is obviously the more physically competent and the fighter of the group, the people all love Celestia as she is the more pleasing looking one (maybe a kind of Hercules/Iolus issue) and as such Celestia is getting all of the credit even for the things Luna does (Luna makes the plans, sets the weapons and traps, trains the fighters, and confronts the enemies at the front line; while Celestia "leads the way"). While Twilight thinks that the map sent them back in time to fix Luna and Celestia's friendship before it breaks, some of the other ponies attempt to help Sonny with his issues. However, the map had actually sent them as a lesson for Twilight to realise that she was not responsible for every broken relationship (making her watch the disintegration between Celestia/Luna) and warns her of the perils of taking things too far in trying to "fix the world", slowly revealing Sonny is actually a young King Sombra; who became so obsessed with "fixing everything" that he pulls a Skywalker and creates an army to overpower the land so that it will be rebuilt in his image (going as far as utilising dark magic to "improve himself" while enslaving those who disagree with him to "fix them") The story would cover morals such as "Pride in yourself" (possibly as taught by AppleJack to Sonny) and what to do if you realise you might be the problem (as experienced through the prideful loudmouth RainbowDash when confronted by Sonny's anger). Twilight would learn "What to do when the people you look up to are not as universally good as you believe them to be" (as she experiences Past-Celestia's pride (which Celestia would later drop after having to banish her sister)), she would find support from Sunset Shimmer here. While the story would not cover their respective falls, the characters (Luna/Celstia/Sombra) are handled in such a way that you can see the thunderclouds on the horizon. Plus it can leave the question dangling on whether things would have happened the way they did had the Mane 7 not been there to try to fix things. While epic in feel, I can't really see a overly happy happy ending. Perhaps a kind of mellow "it all turned out fine in the end" feel as Twilight goes to Luna and Celestia back in present time for hugs and kisses. However, perhaps Twilight would then return to the Crystal Empire and find where Sombra had been banished; finding a very weak Sonny and bringing him back for happy happy friendships. This ending could then open up an extremely epic final episode of the entire series where the heroes of the present (Mane 7, Ponyville, Cadence+Shining) unite with the heroes of the past (Luna, Celstia (the Two Sisters), Discord, King Sombra) to perhaps fight the Nightmare entity or whatever Big Bad was active at the time.
  20. Just finished "You've Got Mail" (Tom Hanks, Meg Ryan, 1998)
