      The die is a triangular prism, with the same three numbers on each end of the die, exactly opposite their correspondent. You take the number that lands pointing uppermost.

      It was the best way they could think of to make a three-number die.

        There's no way to make a three-faced, three dimensional object is there? How odd...

      Not unless they're curved faces.

      Closest you can get is the four-sided tetrahedron, made up of triangular faces, which is due to the fact that triangles have the smallest number of sides you can get in a 2-D object.
