Electromagnetic repulsion isn't even the major factor that works against black hole formation. Everything gets relativistic and quantum-mechanickified under such ridiculously exotic conditions as the interiors of supermassive stars, but it mostly physically adds up except for the whole singularity dealio and in some respects the behaviour of particles at the event horizon.

As for assuming that all of nature is intelligible - it's worked pretty well for us so far! :dash:

It doesn't have to be like believing that the universe exists only for our minds, though; it could also be like believing that the universe exists only because of a mind like ours.

Or believing that the universe exists only because of our minds, but solipsism has always seemed like a trivial solution to me.

For a very small few, yes. I'm not saying the universe isn't intelligible, I'm just saying the assumption that it is completely to an organ that is relatively very young in its evolution seems absurd. But then again, maybe the physics of the universe are stupid easy when perceived correctly (that is, perhaps there is a better language to understand it with).

But I don't know, maybe you're an Alan Cromer fan.

Eh-teh-teh! I refuse to believe that Luna turned coat & got blasted all within a matter of hours! For one, how was she that big enough of a legend for her fear to be that deeply ingrained in culture enough to where its difficult for Luna to reform later when no one but her sister ever had to deal with her? She can't have been anywhere near enough of a threat or formidable enough in power if all she ever did was screech at her sister. No, we, the audience are only given and can only be given simple dots on the timeline.

That was a long, prolonged campaign of evil. Darkhorse straight up murdered and led a Kuu there. Any less, and the whole thousand-year-Moon-banishment is just a tad drastic to pull out for a momentary lapse. You don't think Celestia would have tried confining her, understanding the situation, and tried to find a cure for what so obviously happened so soon?

Celly seems like one prone to respect sciencey takes on things.

Oh, and yeah. Reality exists because you choose to perceive it. If you didn't have the specific set of tools to interpret reality enough to get to the point where you feel you can, then it wouldn't be a big enough thing to think about to begin with. You think the flatworm cares about black holes?

Besides, what, you talk to somebeing who has direct, personal experience with black holes? Or sat down to know what, specifically, Abraham Lincoln said when he was alive?
