     So, I'm sure you're aware of the word: Polymath.

     Breaking this down into root words to connect meaning to: We can see that Poly is the ancient latin meaning of "drawing from many sources." To whit, something akin to multitasking. Doing a lot of things.

     As we know the meaning of the word to mean "doing a lot of things well", this then leads us to the conclusion that...

     Math=Everything Good in the World.

      The 'mathema' root word actually just means 'knowledge'/'learning', so you're not far off. Plus, no matter what you study you can still technically claim to be studying mathematics. :orly:

      Or, alternatively, Mathemagics can be so widely applied because it is, in essence, the wedging into place of laws based on the perceptions of things relating to each other by mortal minds limited by their incapacity to fully grasp the full range of the limitless dimensions all weaving together.

       As I've said of Time being the relation of things together signified by numerical notation;Time is a form of Math as well. Perhaps, if one constitutes Math as being the conceiving of things by symbols, most of Thought is Math as well!
