Huh.........................

Guess I'm NOT the only fellow to not only carry this exact spelling of this name & also be a fan of tentacles.Seems he's some fellow with a rather wonderful talent for 3d computor modelling or whathaveyou.
...Still... he's no draconequus... Would have thought the old word combined with the off-kilter spelling woulda made me one of a kind... eh.

First one's called Thief's Covenant. Ari Marmell is the author. Or you could just Google 'widdershins book' and stare at all the 10-15 books that come up in the immediate search results.
And what's with this 'missy' business, hmm?
EDIT: Even Sir Terry Pratchett talked about 'widdershins' in the Discworld novels. It's what he called the direction on the Disc that went against its spin direction. Like it or not, it's actually quite a commonly-used word in fantasy novels.
And Sir Terry definitely liked tentacles.

First five or so hits are from the Discworld wiki, talking about various tentacled eldritch-abomination beings. That specific class of entity is mentioned more often in his books than many of his human characters.
Also, 'widdershins' means something closer to 'against the natural order of things' than 'anticlockwise', especially as used nowadays in fantasy novels.
