*ahem*
THERE'S A DRAGON MAID ANIME NOW!??! AUGH!!!
This is totally tearing me up inside.
Kobayashi-chan Chi No Maid Dragon. Looks rather respectable despite it's cute motif. Issue is...
I despise the concept of maids. Yes, subservience is somehow appealing to some. That kind of enrages me honestly. But I am completely incapable of finding anything wrong with Dragons in any aspect ever.
There's this meme now that's catching on with the show's popularity:"Don't lewd the dragons"
Have to say, I am quickly falling for Tohru... and I've only seen, like, two and a half clips of the show now.
Also, Side Note: I would link Lost Pause (think his name's Nobel) 's video on it, but eh, don't wanna get in trouble, plus it's a bit long for a status. Sufficed to say, If I did youtube videos... That is exactly how I would be!

Heard of it, but no I haven't.
And no, Fafnir isn't the Norse wolf. It's the mythic dragon featured in the story of Sigurd the Volsung, who's magic blood gave Sigurd his invincibility.
The wolf is actually Fenris, twin to Jorgmindir the world serpent and child of Loki, who fights in the battle of Ragnarok, killing Odin the all father, before perishing to Thor.
As far as the issue of maids as a turn on? Well first off, the outfit looks nice. Second, everyone wants a servant. A cute dressed up girl who does everything soudns like luxury. But in anime, it's actually a bit of a reversal than most of the female protagonists in an anime, who tend to be rather obstinate, overbearing, critical and usually violent towards average Joe the high schooler. Acting almost like a folly to the helpless male protag.
With maids, you get a scenario where, Hey! The female lead is actually not being overbearing and even being helpful to the guy of our story.
Of course, MKDM has a maid being subservient to another woman, which changes the dynamic. Kinda surprised that aspect got green lit.

Hey now, Ranma 1/2 was genderswap & awesome rom-com hilarity! That was a Goo of an entirely different color!
What gets me is the subservience. Calling anyone else "Master" feels wrong to me. I'm accepting of alot (Hey, you lot already know I watch anime!) but to me anyways, that's a line most would equate to BDSM... whatever half those letters stand for. "Serving" someone else just makes me sneer, ain't nobody calling me their "Master" for any reason, even If I somehow wind up being dictator of anything. Being a Maid or Butler makes it clear that your a step under somebeing else, that your compared to them & I can't separate that. Least with butlers you see them being rather combat worthy or snarky some times, but still... even... wossnames, The Black Butler was literally enslaved.
If nothing else, and I'd lump the "nurse outfit" in with this, it's a job. They're there for their job, not to wait on you hand n' foot like they haven't a thought in their head besides blind obedience.
I happen to like a personality that's obstinate, overbearing, critical and occasionally violent towards... ... okay, maybe I got me own issues. Least that shows independence and free will.
Name me a maid that isn't shown running in tears to their "owner" to have them make the tough decisions for them. Even Tohru here centers herself around the titular character. That's a bad character that cannot be defined by their own personality. That's why I didn't like... uhh, redhead snake lady from Monster Musume, she exists because the "Main" character does.
...Huh... I remember every other main cast character in that show, but not hers. Even Darling's and he doesn't even have a name!
