Okay. I'll say it. Freddy's a Gary Stu.
Think about it. We call Batman a Mary Sue/Gary Stu all the time, but its still made apparent that he's willing to share the spotlight. There's others he entrusts with his crimefighting and even the villains get their stories or even defect to help the good guys like Poison Ivy seems to have done lately for some reason. Because we can't have evil women in the Batman world... But I digress!
Even Jason wossnames! His slasher movies are about his origins and him being inexplicably some sorta murder god, but its still about taking him down one way or another and "ending his curse."
Freddy is just terrible. He feeds off the reactions other have of him, he's so god-tier that they've made a point to keeping him to one specific town, and he even literally warps the world to his own theme just to force it on you until the point of death. Freddy is nothing without his audience/victims. A point I think is often addressed in most of his media. I don't believe in him for the same reason I don't believe in a Hell, because logically speaking you'd get used to the torture and stop giving out fear or being repentant for your sins or whatever.
If anything, the reason I dislike Freddy the most is because, as a performer myself, I take umbrage at literally slaying your audience. How do you get repeat customers then, eh?!!?
Snazzy sweater though!
...yes. Yes, I am currently wearing that exact pattern on a sweater as I type this.

@Someguyinablazer Aye! Both actions that tie right back to him! Where that fancy car is something Baitman had to get for himself, regardless of how luckily rich he already is! Though Baitman's financial holdings have also come into play numerous times too.
I say, most displeasing how everything in more modern horror is bent around further impressing on you how evil the bad guy is.
Though... this is not a genre I've ever actually watched. No doubt you are by far more the expert than I, @Johnny1226. But all the reviews I've seen (I can only watch youtube reviews, heh~) have made the point that he's locked into... blast, cannot even recall the town name. Though really, seen him reach out to get ahold of Jason before, so he can to some extent. What's keeping him then? Kinda ruins the story if the main character is built up to pretty much always succeed with his goals.

It makes you long for the old days of classic horror sometimes. Psycho, for instance, was a simple but extremely effective story.
Imagine Batman stuck in traffic? He gets to the crime scene and wonder woman has already been decapitated and butchered, The Joker has already killed 38 people and himself, and Batman's like, "Sorry! Traffic was just... ugh."
I liked Freddy's one-liners though.
