So with the new news on Pokémon out, I have a theory about the new evil group: Team Yell.
They sure do seem to be fans of Marnie, a name in the pokemon battling sport. They got her on banners they wave around. Except... that's about it. Funny how they don't name themselves after their idol or even theme anything else about themselves after her. That's probably what the run-down there is, poor Marnie seems like a nice girl. But she's likely embarrassed about her violently supportive fans and her managers have probably told her to never say or do anything the slightest bit off, because most of these fans use their support of her as an excuse to start a fight or a full on rebellion at the drop of a hat. And that's shown too, they show up in the background of her battles, like they feel entitled to get so close that it'd be dangerous. The way they stand around, antagonize & get in your way really feels as if they care less about the actual game & more about yelling their support over it. As if they only care for themselves, not how others can learn to love the game in their own way.
Think its a lesson in that Loyalty may be a virtue, but it can be taken to extreme & even Evil extents. It's basically a representation of a Toxic Fandom. But I can't think of any reason the Pokémon companies may be thinking of that, not like they knew they had to make a decision that wouldn't be popular, while Game Freak is slowly going out of business from not being able to keep with the times. Even might possibly be the last generation that Game Freak makes.
Game Freak does like having its game's lessons be deep and hidden enough for interpretation. And, well, this might be their last chance to take a risk this big. With a lesson a lot of us these days could learn from.
But its not like its a lesson targeting any specific group. Britain has a history of rebellion, especially with sports, I hear. And I'm sure there's no other immense group of consumers out there that are so vocal about their opinions that its crushing the spirit out of the developers or anything.
Me, I'm all in for Team Yell, baby.
