Origin came after steam so Origin is basically a steam. I believe ubisoft also has one. It made me download a THIRD fucking program just to play AC3. Steam is inherently limiting. You buy the games but you don't actually own ANY of them. They can take away your purchase at any time they want. Steam also makes it difficult to move the games YOU purchased.

They're both absolute bullshit. But there's nothing you can do. If you have a PC and you want don't want to pirate, then you gotta use Steam.

Oh, but I buy Skyrim on a disc in-store, I won't have to install Steam will I? Yeah, you do. So if you have no internet, you're SOL.

It's stupid how unfair gaming companies treat PC gamers. No wonder piracy is such an issue. It seems like the only way I can actually own the games I buy is to steal them.

Not to mention that you have to have it open to play any of your games. Their program is largely on a web page so it breaks and freezes often. For MMO's through steam, you now have 2 chances of somebody fucking up. Steam could fuck up and you wont be able to play as is often the god damn case. Steam. Steam has caused me to be unable to play the games I've bought more times than I can remember.
