  1. Most free shooting games are divided. There is usually a vast amount of people that play for fun and casually and aren't particularly good. It's when you start getting into the competitive scene that shooting games start requiring a lot of skill. ALL shooting games that I have played have these separate communities. Thus, each FPS game requires skill.
  2. People who like first person shooters don't like games that require skill? Or were you referring to world of warcraft?
  3. RPGs: MapleStory***** Perfect World** Mabinogi** Vindictus** Dragon Nest*** Atlantica** Spiral Knights**** Rusty Hearts** Dragon Saga**** Last Chaos**** Runescape*** Shooting: Soldier Front***** Cross Fire*** Combat Arms***** Sudden Attack** Alliance of Valiant Arms**** Crimecraft**** There are some that I could remember that were free and then I rated them out of 5 stars. These are just some of my favorite free ones.
  4. Because he doesn't live where you live. Ink scape is vectoring so it's a different type of inking. As for my answer: Photoshop is the industry standard. It can do anything you want. It's expensive though. I would recommend PaintTool SAI. It is free if you get it here http://sai.detstwo.com/sai/ all thought if you like it I would recommend paying the programmers who made it so they can continue to improve it. PaintTool SAI doesn't work on mac (the port sucks) so if your friend uses OSX then I would suggest photoshop. Paint.NET, from my experience, is not powerful enough to create paintings and drawings with the same level of quality that photoshop provides. SOOOO if Windows, get PaintTool SAI hands down. If mac, get Photoshop. Some alternates to photoshop in terms of industry standard is maybe Corel Painter. I haven't used this program too much because it tries to emulate physical mediums too much for my tastes. If your friend is serious about getting in to digital painting then I would suggest putting down some money. With free programs like GIMP and Paint.NET your going to be sacrificing something whether it be power or versatility. Most payed programs offer a trial if your unsure if it meets your needs. Please note that GIMP, Paint.NET and other free programs aren't *bad* programs. They just have different strengths and weaknesses and are good for the price tag. GIMP has always been too buggy for my taste, but I would pick Paint.NET over Photoshop for pixel art work.

  13. 1. Don't save as a jpg. Always png. 2. The wings look limp which isn't really a characteristic of a feather. 3. The sword's lines are too wobbly, I think the image would benefit from using straight lines on those. Otherwise the form is surprisingly well done. Keep up the good work.
  14. People aren't made out of cones and spheres, they are made out of much more forgiving shapes. People don't wear skin tight dresses usually so they don't need it to fit around them perfectly. My mother used to make dresses, most of the time they were from patterns, but she would occasionally make dresses from scratch. All she used was a dress makers mannequin. I can promise you she doesn't know any calculus at all. Dress making with math is like Drawing with math. Yes it's possible to draw with math, but it's not common because it's much quicker and probably more aesthetically pleasing to do it without math. I know how to get that wavy look in a cloth, but it's a bit hard to describe via a post. Basically it's one long piece of fabric that is sewed to itself to create that loop. Also, if you watch Rarity make a dress, she wastes a lot of cloth. The dress fabric can overlap, it doesn't have to be perfect at all. Like I said. It would be illogical to use math in dress making just like it would be illogical to use math in drawing. (not including mechanical drawings. Dressmaking != mechanical drawing)
  15. Thats where your wrong. You see the franchise is My Little Pony which has traditionally been a little girls show. Bronies aren't making the rides, the people in charge of the park are. Hasbro's targeted audience is STILL little girls. There are more little girls that watch the show then there are bronies. Therefor the people in charge of licensing My Little Pony would license it as a child's ride. Kids would want to ride it more than adult men.
  16. xD they are *a lot* more similar than you think. A) That's why they take measurements It would only be uncomfortable if you needed a skin tight suit. I would have to say that majority of the clothing in the world does not fit skin tight and there is always some slack or room in a dress. Just because RD was more picky doesn't mean she doesn't like animals any less. Someone may like one animal but want something completely different for a pet. To be honest I don't even know how you came up with the idea that Rarity would use more than just basic math in her dress making. Dress making is not that mechanical. If it was then there would be a program like CAD, but for dress making. If Rarity had to perform Calculus just to make 1 dress then she would never finish and the client would be even more angry. Just because there are curves in a dress doesn't mean that she used math to make them work. She took basic measurements which I would assume is similar to those taken when getting a suit and used those to base her dress off. If they are off by half an inch, the customer likely wouldn't even notice.
  17. It would most likely be a children's ride. Perhaps one of those ones like a the Winnie The Pooh ride at Disney land or one of those micro roller coasters that are only several meters and never really leave the ground.
  18. I think your adding math to art. I doubt rarity does calculus to make her designs work. It's more of an art then a science. Just because the math exists in the subject doesn't mean it was solved to create it. When I draw a curve for a drawing, I promise you that I do not solve it. I am sure that, like lines and curves make up the bases for a drawing, there are similar core mechanics that dress makers use to make their dress. As for twilight, she has an average affinity for animals. Many people love dogs and cats and pets, but not everyone loves them enough to become a vet. Fluttershy has many many many animals in her care. twilight has 1. All of the main 6 have a pet. Recap: Rarity probably doesn't do calc to make her dresses twilight's affinity for animals should not be mistaken with Fluttershy's affinity. That and the show is mostly noncontiguous.
  19. Just told me new college roommate who I've never spoken to before that I was a brony. :D nothing can go wrong!
