    Do y’all ever wanna just drop everything and go for a long road trip with no real destination, avoiding the interstate just taking back routes, and stay at a dump hotel for the night and then continue driving the next day just stopping at different little random gas stations and what not along the way or is it just me?

My family is going to have a cook out tonight while we have me and my sister’s birthday celebrations (Our official birthdays aren’t for another week but particular family members could only make it for this weekend).     I have found my newest favorite pastime. Stargazing from the bed of my truck. :wub: It’s a bit chilly tonight but so beautiful! I believe I spotted Venus... @Phosphor might find this of interest. :P

      @Dark Horse, @Lucky Bolt this will help you find a dark site: Yellow zone would be minimum to see the Summer Milky Way, but light green or darker is better. My other place is in a blue zone and Venus will cast a faint shadow.  :grin:

      Wanting to do the same, just go farrr away from here. Some places it's dark enough to spot the Andromeda galaxy and perhaps the second farthest.

      Hard to imagine all those stars looking bright in a dark sky aren't so visible in normal conditions.
