    My expectations were low, so I was pleasantly surprised. It's far from perfect, but it's a pretty solid start of a new generation. Good characters, a nice and simple story, decent songs and jokes (I even chuckled 2 or 3 times). I'll have to get used to cutie marks only on one flank though.

    Now I’m convinced that one of the most magnificent moments in anime history actually features a song about Twilight Sparkle. I mean, “Princess Pancake”, the mentions of spells and power of friendship, and “Twinkle, twinkle” – it has to be about her.

    Yeah, that time when Rarity actually had her mane made of cloud probably doesn't count. Also, most of the delegates from that episode don't get much appreciation, which is too bad, because there are some great designs there.

    I have a niece who used to watch MLP when she was little. She was very excited that I could list all the ponies.

    The animation is good. Voice acting seems fine, although I need to hear more. I like the humor element, but the overall atmosphere is something to get used to. It feels considerably different from G4. It’s hard to put this difference into words, but it’s palpable. I just hope it won’t be too simplistic, wacky and overly-glittery.

    For me it's Season 5 for several reasons. It was the 1st season that came out after I became an MLP fan, it has my favorite episode, and its general quality is consistently good, in my opinion.

    Judging by her reaction in the comics, she really likes cookies. I don't know what kind of cookies is her favorite though.

    If It Bleeds by Stephen King. Started the second story. So far it feels like King's own mystical version of Black Mirror.

    Summer of 84'. At first it had stong Stranger Things vibes, but then it changed and moved in its own direction. I liked it.

    Spike and Discord, apparently. Spike seems to be a bit better known and there is more fan-made content with him in it, but I haven't met many people who consider Spike one of their favorite characters (unlike Discord).

    Considering only animated family-friendly shows (I don't think it's possible to compare MLP with South Park or Doctor Who), I'd say there are a few shows that I like as much as MLP. I find them superior in some aspects and inferior in some other ways. These shows are Adventure Time, Over the Garden Wall, Gravity Falls, and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. But I find it impossible to choose a favorite one.

    IDW comics had an good run, and delivered a couple of real gems. I hope they'll have a great ending. As for the crossover, I've always wanted to see an April Fools' Day episode of FiM where G4 ponies would have G1 designs or meet G1 characters. Now it's kinda happening, so I'm thrilled.

    I'm a big fan of South Park since early 00s. Best adult animated show in my book. It makes fun of everyone and rarely disappoints.
