Thinking about myself as a pony. Finally have some ideas down.

I tend to be marked by a distinct and restless skepticism. Whatever my circumstances, chances are I will live in a state of dissatisfaction. Rebellion is in my blood, manifesting whether they are fighting back against liars, or the most recent trends of the youngsters. I am cerebral and self-aware; I have a far better grasp on the landscape of my own mind than my surroundings. So much of their identity is built on control, because when others control situations I am never satisfied. While I am deeply inflexible and pessimistic, however I am also a great problem solver, facing conflicts head-on with shrewd and calculating minds. I see one true path among an infinite snarl of wrong ones. I tend to be introverted, but if you win my trust I am an extremely powerful ally. Letting go and living in the moment is hard; I constantly look toward the future and analyze the past. A skilled manipulator whether in small situations or large ones, I look forward to coming out ontop of situations that proves formerly undesirable. Should I have the desire to do so. Otherwise I am largely uninvolved in other people's problems unless I can benefit by interfering and swaying relations between others.

I posses great contempt for lies or false ideas, including the stability that false ideas can impart. To me, the truth is far more important than the good; I would gladly tear down a system just to destabilize it if, by my reckoning, it is built on faulty premises. Often I prefer being in complete control to any of the alternate forms of civilization, which I believe to be riddled with lies and foolishness and obedient masses. I am a bringer of confusion and doubt, and I can be frustratingly difficult to convince otherwise when I have attached themselves to an idea. If I sound dangerous, I am. At my best I am original, revolutionary, and fearless. At their worst I am cruel, uncompromising, and vicious.

I can come off as preachy, and dive into my interlocutors with the force of my intellect. My arguments make perfect sense to me, but not always to those around me. I am interested in a wide variety of topics. 

To those that I care about I am deeply loyal, yet worried about their relations with others. Are they doing something I wouldn't like? Are they plotting against me? If I truly trust someone, I will befriend them to the end. If someone should betray that, they will not walk away innocently. I care deeply about those I do, and surround them with companionship and loyalty, and open up a lot.

With a deep fascination in the topics of history, writing, poetry, alternate history, geology, astronomy, cosmology, ufology and approach various things with an open mind to the possibilities, yet I am extremely annoyed with concepts that work in opposition to mine, and I'd do anything within my power to slowly destabilize them and destroy their image. I can talk circles around most people, and I am not afraid to use their intelligence to manipulate others to get what I want should others be perceived as an obstacle, or worse, a threat. I am tumultuous, bringing great emotion and creativity to my pursuits. I am are resolute in my decisions; if I am going to do something, I do it. I have a tendency toward melodrama, especially when I feel passionately about something, and my bad moods are loud and usually difficult to conceal.

History and backstory:

A pegasus born to his parents in the city of Stratusburg, the young pegasus of Afterglow Eventide was fairly unremarkable in his youth. His father being a cloud farmer and an electrician, while his mother had no real job to speak of. In his youth he was rather shy and would stay up late at night to see the stars. He never wanted to go to sleep, he just wanted to look at the stars and admire the mare in the moon. As time grew on, his life became more turbulent and he was forced to adopt to changing times. He moved in 3rd grade to Windsoar, a smaller pegasus town where his father was from originally. They moved into the old cloud farm where his father hailed from but it was since closed down. In his time in school he would further his studies and increase his knowledge. He got his cutie mark after looking at all of the planets and the moon, during the rare conjunction that happened at that time. 

When Nightmare Moon was freed from her escape, he secretly rooted for her. The moon was wonderful and so was the night. A remnant of Nightmare Moon's residual energy would have been shot off the moon and absorbed into a nearby cloud, he noticed the strange cloud and was struck by lightning. Afterwards, he had the ability to dreamwalk and intrude into other ponies dreams without being recognized by them. After this happened he developed a strange fondness for dark and mysterious magic, the kind that was frowned upon by others. As a pegasi, he could not effectively cast spells but due to the strange energy within him he began to hone and further his spells and magic in secret due to that remnant of Nightmare Moon living on inside of him. After graduating from his school among one of the top members of his class. At the age of 17, he joined Princess Luna's guard in order to get his college classes for free tuition. He was in the guard for 4 years throughout his college years, and was lucky enough to become one of Princess Luna's guards. Although he did not personally know Princess Luna, at a few times he had met her in person and guarded over her during meetings. After graduating, he set his sights on the Wonderbolts.

For a time he basically kicked the can down the road and retreated within the realm of dreams and dream manipulation. Here, he was able to further practice his own magic and spells within his own dream where nobody could tell him what or what not to do. His parents had guided him all this time, and he had developed an interest in joining the Wonderbolts. This was before the time of Rainbow Dash becoming one. He had been accepted into the Wonderbolts academy but he had failed one of the tests and quit right in front of Spitfire's face and blasted all of them on the spot for alleged 'rigging' and 'fraud' in the exam levied against him. Spitfire was going to expell him, but he would interrupt her and say "I quit!" and throw his Wonderbolt pin on the ground infront of her. Since then, he has perfected his own flight skills at his own pace and took an interest in politics as a front to pour his rage from being expelled / fired from the wonderbolts.

With a shrewd, manipulative mind like his he was able to become elected the Mayor of Windsoar who was well known for his un-politician like policies and would actually deliver change and progress ponies had wanted. Although due to the short term limits, he was not able to accomplish all he had desired however he had left his mark on the office and appointed successors to come after him effectively dominating over the town even after having left office. After two failed impeachment attempts on his name, he outed his rivals through a series of laws passed forth by his successors. Despite still being young, he earned the respect and support of many. On one day, the Wonderbolts had attempted to train and perform activities within his small town and he had banned them and left a rather nasty letter that left them questioning their act towards him earlier.

Eventually Spitfire had come back to him and realized her mistake in letting him go from the Wonderbolts. He joined the Wonderbolts again for a short period before realizing it was no longer a right fit, and had formed an opposing team of the most elite pegasi from Windsoar, who were also kicked out from the Wonderbolts and had formed the Shadowbolts in response in which he was captain of the Shadowbolts for a few years before gracefully departing from the role in order to pursue his interest in astronomy and geology along with his new girlfriend, Maud Pie. With his wit and charm, he convinced Maud Pie to break up with Mud Briar and dump him. 

Since his marriage with Maud Pie, he has lived a very happy and carefree life after his younger years of success. He is now 26, having become Mayor of Windsoar when he was 21 and left office at the age of 23. He formed the Shadowbolts at the age of 23, as well. He has many prized possessions, such as his armour from his guard days. He has set his eyes on becoming the new mayor of Sire's Hollow. After convincing Maud to move there with him, he ran for office and defeated the incumbent mayor and re-wrote the constitution in Sire's Hollow allowing him to rule as mayor for life. After handing ownership of the Shadowbolts to one of his trusted friends, he has set his mind to keeping the position as the new mayor of Sire's Hollow until the rest of time.

A crescent moon within some sort of star globe ontop of a solar system orrey with the various planets of the solar system. Behind that is a dark sun, drawing in all light that comes near it. One may note that he has Twilight Sparkle's cutie mark within his own, and that is part of a rare pattern of cutie mark duplication. Nobody knows why it happens, but it does. The top part of the orrey is horned, symbolizing his weariness and anxiety surrounding his plans.

The bottom part has the knots breaking off of it, like how he breaks and shatters the lies of other ponies. Sometimes, he even shatters their ideologies and political opinions.
