   Nah, ya see, power can instill an inclination towards vying for more power. Avarice, you know. What people forget is that fear isn't as widely varied as anger or hatred. Anger can be alot of things, even positive, like most emotions.

  Fear is a negative, a self-preservational need. Sure, you can lash out in fear or make a pre-emptive strike at something those not clouded with doubt would have originally had seen as a threat. That's what most get wrong. Fear, like bacteria, isn't something you need to completely eradicate from your psyche as a altruistic sense of becoming a "whole" being.

  You need your fear. Think of it like common sense. Fear tells you to not eat that fistful of barbed wire just to see how it would feel. But fear can also tell you not to ask out that girl who might possibly be willing to be your lifelong soulmate. Fear isn't some big, shadowy monster that you can't fight against. Sure, it very easily flows into hatred, but like raising a pit bull, if you treat it like a monster, it becomes one. Get used to it, keep it from biting back at you, and it can be a big cuddly puppy-dog.

  Fear is hunger. It's not evil. Any emotion can be taken to terrible levels.

  Just look at Spongebob! You wanna live next door to someone who's that level of "happy?"

   Though, granted, fear is an overall negative that keeps you from things, just... keeping away isn't always a negative.
