    Russia is a European country and always has been. It would be a tech and economic powerhouse and trading partner if they just welcomed her back into the european family, not to mention the rich culture of this great nation. It's ridiculous to alienate these people with whom we share so much.

       Well, I don't. I don't even know anything about it other than the name and that most people with that nationality are pretty much Epic by default.  I have yet to meet/hear about a Russian who hasn't led a life that sounds like a 600-page novel!

         It ain't my country, Haven't been there & probably won't ever get a chance to. Why should I put effort into only dredging up the bad things about it? Even I've kicked a few puppies before!

      I think Russia should give up Siberia, the larger part in Asia, and just be happy with the section they have got. Siberia ultimately belongs to the Chinese, as the first Chinese were founded there, a lot of the "Russians" there have links to China. And we cannot ignore the fact that Russia oppresses free speech, extremely, every candidate running for president there is either killed, or not successful in getting the position even though the larger majority seemed to like them.
