    Whether the hero is a hero, or whether the villain is a villain is all a matter of opinion. If one truly is evil, all they do is destroy and take. If one isn't, then they might just be judged unfairly. Like Queen Chrysalis, sure she has a bad attitude, but she was looking out for her hive in the way she saw fit.

      I haven't really watched episodes that much lately, I'm more keen on making my own concepts from existing ones. And I'm just inspired to make one of Chrysalis...an AU of sorts.

      ...wouldn't wholesale recreation of a personality from a pre-existing character without the changing of their design be pretty much stealing and overwriting the original intent? Besides! They've already done that!

        There's been plenty of speculation & fan theory. That Chrysalis is somehow corrupted from a pre-existing alicorn, or that Changelings are what became of the Flutterponies that once held such importance in earlier renditions of the show. Then there's the other dimension hoopla the comics got up to where Chrysalis was basically Cadence, the Element of Unconditional Love.

      Well, in my view she was kidnapped as a filly alicorn by a witch corrupted by the alicorn amulet, who turned her into what she is now as a way to have more power on her side to dominate the world, the witch would later be cast away by her creation, Queen Chrysalis.
