      That cutie mark is even more ostentatious then Luna's. Never did like her "cursemark" thing either; like its just eating away her flank like a bad rash.

       Second one just looks like a combination of Celestia with more of Cadence. And Cadence is frankly pretty basic.

      I don't mind the first one, though I agree with you on the 2nd one. Would you mind there being a male alicorn king of the sun or moon?

      Well, put it this way, that I don't see gender adding anything more to such important roles. It only goes to show a more blatant dichotomy between the concepts. Something that ran into issues back when Greek & Roman mythology tried to consolidate together in order to mesh together well enough to not trigger any human.
