I am now reminded of a movie called Melancholia.

The plot follows a rogue planet entering the solar system, and which will eventually destroy the earth. It also details some characters reactions this event, and their lives too. I haven't watched it in a few years but I would again.

Honestly the whole concept of this is chilling, a rogue planet emerging from behind our sun and is found to be on a collision course with earth with NO way of possibly adverting it.

Melancholia is a massive blue world. 

And upon the realization of the planet is going to impact the earth one of the characters said "Earth is evil."

Makes me wonder if this could actually happen. What the planet would be like. 

I had a dream about a similar thing, once. I was just then starting to record dreams. There was an ice giant world the likes of Uranus or Neptune on collision course with earth. It was a purplish pink with distinct banding. The exact area where the planet hit was in Panama, and I remember radio stations going out as the planet was hitting. I got in a car and drove somewhere.

I can think about an interesting alternate plot, what if Melancholia destroyed the moon and Earth was captured into an orbit around it, as the planet assumed an orbit around the sun.
