All these years and I come across what inspired me, when I was a kid. Not mainly this scene but more of the concept, the concept of going to space and stuff.
And now I just break down crying, knowing these things are the things that made me what I am.

I don't know about space. What I'm getting out of that is how we treat & abandon our belongings just because they're inanimate. So much money, effort, emotion, care & intent gets put into those satellites, or the items like this that encapsulate the time & hearts that brought it together, and they are just left to rot, forgotten.
Maybe I'm just scarred from that car junkyard song from the first movie. Unliving they may be, but they still had lives.
Guess I subscribe to the belief in Tsukomu-gami. (Artifact Spirits)

Aye, I am not much of a risk taker in, uh, most aspects.
Space is a frontier like how the ocean used to be. You explore out there & you are NOT coming back! There just isn't any conceivable way to get anything back from space; why there's so much space junk around. But, maybe one way to look at it... is that millions of years later, when we can, We can stop by an check in on Viking. See where we once were...
