Status Updates posted by Props Valroa

  1. As the date flips over to October, I am yet again reminded of how quickly time passes. I remember the things I was doing a year ago - and how that's now so long ago.

  2. Happy birthday! Haven't seen you in a while, hope all is well.

  3. Happy birthday! Hope you have a good one.

  4. Happy birthday! Hope you return someday.

  5. I remember a dream I had today, where I was in some other transdimensional realm. I was standing on...something and looking out, I saw various pixelated squares and rectangles arranged in random patterns, moving, and phasing in and out of the place. Inside of them was various stars and galaxies, and towards the center of the whole thing, was some sort of complex intergalactic web, that was a physical structure. It was all tinted in a slight cosmic purple hue. I remember before this scene, I was with some Soviet Borderguard back in the 1980's, told him what was going on now, before stepping across into whatever that place was, from his office.

  6. Happy birthday!

  12. Happy birthday! Hope you are well.

  13. Maybe I should start using statuses more? Now that they actually work. Wonder if people even look at these, anyway?

He's a character from The Owl House. To many people he is annoying, but to me he is hilarious. XD

  18. @Windy Breeze @Illiad Easle @Blitz @Oleks @abrony-mouse @Kujamih @Rikifive

I suppose I have some things to air out into the wind, in hopes that it goes somewhere. I'm probably just looking to say things to just say them, and not necessarily expecting any outcome. I have some important announcements to make about the future relating to the forums. Pardon my mentions, but I figured this would be relevant to speak of for some of you to hear.

This year has been the hardest year of things, both IRL and Online. It has lead to many unforeseen circumstances and changes that have affected just about everything. This has lead to many good things, but the road to get there was quite hard. There is still much more to resolve, but for the time being, I am at a period of relative stability. Maybe I just overhype things sometimes when I speak of them, or maybe I sometimes just feel the need to vent. Perhaps that is what this is.

Most of the time I just shoot in the wind, hoping that something comes of it. I've burnt so many bridges, and the question that remains in my mind - what can I do now, to make up for that?

    --------------

Of all of these changes, has lead to a re-thinking of how I wish to present my identity on the forums to other people. For that reason, I am making one final name change that is not meant to be an 'temporary' change like the others were. Going forward on this forum, my name will be Props. Who is Props? A character from the Austraeoh series, who I believe was vastly unrepresented. Read Austraeoh to find out more information, it's a long read that took me many months, but it's worth it.

I will treat any and all previous identities I have used on the forums as invalidated, and I do not wish to associate with any of those terms, except for Heed Green (my discord name). The name Starforce to me (which many of you knew me by previously), represents 2021, and so much has changed since then, that the name is entirely undesirable. Starlight is a character who represents the past. Props shall be the future. I've always been drawn to engineer type characters who work with their hands (or hooves), so perhaps that may eventually be a career I may seek, if not something similar. Please call me Props from now on.

It's time to think about the future. I've held myself back through apprehension for far too long and quite frankly - I'm done feeling stagnant. It's time to make a change, and forge a path I can call my own. Where, or whenever this starts, I don't know, but I have my mind set to it.

The forums are fixing it's issues. It may be surprising for some of you to hear, but before the forums started to have inklings of resolving issues (the status updates, ranks not updating, etc) I had plans to go on a leave from the forums for an extended amount of time. Now, that is unlikely, as I see it fitting that I put in more effort to this site, as things are being resolved.

    --------------

For those who don't RP with me, feel free to ignore this bit -

As you know, I am fairly active in the RP scene. I will lay out my intended goals for others to keep in mind for the future. Over the summer and previous months, I suffered an extended drought of RP burnout. I was in far too many RPs. Right now, I am only active in the Aether Project, Frozen North, and Return of the King.

Casual Stroll is a different story, as I have set my interactions up to be reliant on another person, so that I am not feeling constantly pressured to post, and so it evolves a better storyline more in line with what I had in mind.

As of right now, I am not open for any forum RPs. Once the Aether Project officially concludes, I will be seeking new RPs on the forums, perhaps in the future, we can come up with something new, or do more 1x1 RPs. However for now, I am focusing on current RPs. Future ideas will come, but not now.

On other sites, various RPs I was in have concluded and I have not entered new ones, so this time period has offered me quite a mental break. I enjoy RPing, but there is a such thing as too much of a good thing.

My issue with RPing is not specific to this site, but the concept in general. Many RPs I have been in died out, either due to lack of activity, users withdrawing - in some cases, disappearing for no reason and never returning. When I am open for new RPs, I would like to try to mitigate this by having solid plans, although flexible, have some sort of end goal or timeframe in mind.

In context of the forums themselves, I have been in RP groups that have disbanded due to users having frequent periods of inactivity, and up and vanishing for no apparent reason. In some cases, people I have RP'd with here have left the forums for one reason or another.

Despite the relative decline of the forums, this is one of the few places on the internet where I have actually found enjoyment and for that reason - I am not going anywhere. I love interacting with you all, and I do not wish to stop doing so. I hope that in time, the issues the forums have as a whole can be resolved, so we can put maximum effort into quality interactions and RP.

    --------------

It's very interesting to try and force yourself out of past habits that no longer work. I'd encourage everyone to look at themselves in the mirror and look at what needs to change, then put in effort doing so. Looking back at how I was a year ago, I cannot believe I went and did some of the things I did.

Most of the time people know what needs to be done but find themselves sidelined by apprehension and anxiety. My advice? Just do it. I need to do it. Everyone does. The human brain can either be a cage, or it can be a free bird, unshackled and unbridled with the worries of the world.

There are a lot of more in depth things about myself I seek to change, and have changed. For me, it's time to stop thinking about the world's problems and start doing in order to really resolve my own. We all have limited time on this planet, and I believe it is an important thing to introspect on one's past actions to gild a better future.

I find myself absolutely flabbergasted at how much has changed in so little time. That trend will only continue. In the context of a changing and turbulent world where anything can happen, I find it even more important to have a strong moral center and a grasp on what is right and what is wrong.

As of right now, I feel as if most things are heading to a rapid change. I don't know what that is, or what it will be - but I can feel it, especially lately. This is a time to be strong.

In a world of unfairness, oppression and suppression of thought it is even more paramount to be kind to others, to always question things, to never stop learning.

Time can be a harsh maiden. Be sure to temper it wisely.

Sometimes it's better to just burn it all down and forge anew - for there is greater potential for progress.

Your past helped you get where you are, and the saying goes... History tend to repeat itself... Hence if you have not learned from your past you will repeat it and be it's victim again. Don't think of your past mistakes as a burden but a stepping stone. Stay healthy my friend.

      Props to you :mlp_smug:

  19. Happy birthday to an amazing roleplayer! I've known you for years and I love roleplaying with you! I hope you enjoy your birthday!
