I remember the era of smileys!
I swear with each use of the above words my IQ decreases. And I need every IQ point I can get!

Glad to hear it was interesting!

The issue with doing so is it doesn’t serve the story and feels more like something the author shoehorned in for... reasons. It kills immersion more often than not.

On the other side of the spectrum, what do people gain from flaming someone’s work? I think that’s due to the anonymity you get online. People are jerks for the sake of being jerks. It’s why I say if you want to start a YouTube channel you have to have the thickest skin in the world.

Everyone likes to feel right or validated. It takes strong character to admit when you are wrong.
As for me, I am always right. Except for this one time when I thought I was wrong, but it turned out I was right.

I have gotten some really mean replies from people who I have given criticism to. I made sure I wasn’t being rude either.
The root cause of criticism is not malice. It’s assistance. -

The bigger bad guy just stole candy from a baby and kicked a puppy but fortunately he has one glaring weakness that nobody else in existence has exploited yet because reasons! -
That one is an absolute testament to lazy writing. It’s the veritable escape button people hit when things aren’t working for them. You can make this cliche work, but it takes some doing.

There is a time and a place to use blood, mind you. You can make it work but it’s helpful to know when and where to use it.
Apparently Hitchcock was a bit of a troll. He used to get into crowded elevators, tell an engaging tale to someone with him that would get everyone’s attention, and when he was about to get to the punch line of the story, he would get off the elevator and leave them guessing.

Exactly.
Nothing turns me off of a story faster than the script format.
God I miss Celtx. It was a great script program for a while.

It's never too late. Try a word sprint and see if that helps.

Exactly.
I usually like to keep my writing offline until I have gotten through a portion first. So several chapters and then I see how I am doing. Is this something I can see through with passion? Barring that, is it something I can tough through? I have abandoned my share of projects too, but fortunately most of them never made it online to begin with.

I did find some funny ones. And others that i cannot unsee.
Wait, do they use litter boxes too?
how often does it eat?
-
Do they knock glasses of water off tables too for no reason?

I'm not sure what just happened but it made more sense than The Crying of Lot 49, so I'm counting that as a win.

I'm sorry to hear. I hope it all works out but i know how that feels.

Be happy you're in school. Once that's done you join the real world. Spoiler alert: there is no summer vacation in work.

I read a few weird ones before. *cough* Get Some Young *cough*

Very well written. Engaging and somber, but also very wise and clever. You should be proud of this one.

I'm so sorry things have gotten so stressful for you. But I'm going to have to second what the above commenters said. Whatever happens, I'm right there if you need me.
