  1. The “World of Light” mode of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is quite possibly the least entertaining “story” mode I have ever seen.

And yet the fighting mechanics and multiplayer and general combat are simultaneously some of the best the series offered so far.

Glad to see I'm not alone. I wrote a blog about this right after I beat the mode (which took me a bit more than 16 hours by the way) and honestly, I think it is extremely lazy and repetitive, not to mention ungodly annoying at times. This mode along with the very problematic online makes me question how this game is so highly rated. There's a lot to love in Ultimate, but it has some of the dumbest design choices I have ever seen from Nintendo.

Still, at least it gave us Galeem and Dharkon.

@Kyoshi The intro scene sold me on a good story. I'm at least 3 hours in without a single cut scene or sign of story development since. It's like classic mode if they added in a few doses of not fun.

And what is with the difficulty settings? I swear one fight will be with an AI who will literallY commit suicide, and the next I can't get a strike in. I'm all for a challenge but there really ought to be some semblance of order.
